I drove up there this morning and bought some tickets.

@ Kwik Trip, Pick 'N Save AND the famous Ma and Pa's....

They kept showing Miracle Mile in Fond du lac, WI , and all the winners that have been sold there.

I've bought tickets there, all along the mile, even at Ma and Pa's.

It didn't help, at least for me....

Yeah, tonight's was pretty upbeat, no horror stories.

They pointed out a few facts- Americans spend $57,000,000,000 a year on lotto was on of them.

They kept showing Miracle Mile in Fond du lac, WI , and all the winners that have been sold there. No doubt that's where the Lottery Fairy lives, now we know!

They showed a group of local winners that work in a place called Friar Tucks, and the waitresses are dresseed like monks.

If I won a big jackpot, and had enough money to spread around of course, I told my mom that I would buy her a house.

But if I won a small jackpot, I will have to be very discreet, as I know how my family and friends would react. Yep, Sep 9 is the last show for a while.

Probably the best thing about the show is to learn about what I don't want to do.

Maybe a nice Toyota Hybrid, and a reasonable house. If it's a big one maybe a quiet ranch. A smaller one, maybe even an apartment...

1% for the person that sold me the ticket.

And most of the money goes in my scottrade account where I can trade 5-10 times a day.

I had no idea it had become a series. I wish I knew that so I could have set up my Tivo for it.

As for being incoginto, in the state of Pennsylvania, you cannot. I set the PA Lottery Commission an e-mail about it and they said that other players have the right to know that real people win the lottery.

There was a story here in Wis where a somebody Won like 5 Mil $$$$ ge trusted it to a BIG brokerage firm, and they lost his money. He ended up suing them. I don't know the result of that story though. I would guess, like a DR and you trust somebody with your money, you might need a second opinion. And a 3rd. And watch it yourself. And get VERY informed yourself...

It's not close to being a depression overall yet (except maybe in Michigan where the state has been swirling around in the bowl for years) though at the rate things are going it still could get there, a depression is an economic downturn that last several years..

I meant to update the schedule. The series has been moved to Wednesday nights. Last night's was interesting, particularly the guy who only won 3.7 million and invested more than half of it in some restaurant/hotel venture with another guy. The partner mortgaged it against another investment and they lost the whole thing.

Those programs are getting depressing they are showing how stupid some people are with spending money. I can't believe that half the winners say the wish that they hadn't won the lottery!! Note: Most of them were from California....???

I would like to see more like the sisters in Louisana and our Texas girl. They were sure happy to win. And really appricated the lotterys.

A couple of the Q As on the latest episode was that 33% of jackpot winners are broke within five years of winning and the most common things money is spent on after winning a jackpot is paying off mortgages and travel. I thought it was going to be cars as it seems these programs always show people and their newly purchased dram cars.

Also, a woman in Oregon who won $5,000,000 had to move twice, to completely different towns, because of being harassed and having things stolen. She wound up in

I used to post The Lottery Jackpot Winner's Protection Program as a joke, but the more of these I see, the better that idea sounds.

Like the guy in New Mexico getting all the mail. He handled it well, especially the look on his face when someone wrote in asking to be staked to play in the poker tournament.

they missed one state, TN, i guest they count the fact they charge a tax on stuff like bank intrest on money, but never tax the winnings them selfs

I guess I should have mentioned that these are all new shows. This is the new season. The schedule has changed a bit. The dates are successive now. First show was tonight, then every Thursday for the next five weeks.

Everyone here should watch this program.

On tonight's episode they showed the Wicca guy who won $88 million (netted $33), a teenager who won on a scrathcer, invested $550,000 of it in the stock market and had lost $200,000 of that when they show was made, a woman who won a $1.2 million house in a raffle for $50, and a couple in New Zealand.

The first half of the program was all postive, the second half, follow up storis on these people, not so positive.
