I'm from TN too and the consensus around here seems to be that TN is not a very good bet and I agree after having much better luck in VA. If you're near another state (like VA) it's my personal opinion that you'll have better luck there. Powerball is still ok in TN though. Good luck

What if the the instate games are randomly generated? Me and a couple of buddies went in on 80 Lotto Plus numbers in the past two weeks, using a system I came up with. I was very confident in the system and so far we have only one $3.00.

I am thinking about coming up with a system, only playing the powerball. I figure if I play 5 numbers using powerplay once a week, the returns will be better than the instate games Anyone agree

Hello caipiao,

Powerplay is an extra dollar for each line. With Powerplay you get any prizes won except the jackpot multiplied by 2 to 5 times the original amount.

never played pb, is powerplay a dollar per line? or a dollar per ticket slip of 5 #s, which amounts to 20 cents per line? lol then , yes.

but isnt it like a 2-dollar ticket. Do the extra one go increase the jackpot by 2X too

Good phrasing, because I think it's definitely just a matter of opinion. Here's my take. By using the extra dollar to play another combination you have 3 options. You can play 5 different numbers with the same power ball, the same 5 numbers and a different power ball, or play all different numbers. Yeah, I agree. If one is looking for wins where you can get a couple hundred dollars with better odds, games like Pick 3 are the way to go.

I moved from a Mega Millions state to a Powerball state and found by using the powerplay option the smaller wins are nicer. For players looking to cash tickets for a couple hundred bucks, I believe pick-3 and pick-4 is a better play.

I used to not play powerplay when I bought my tickets. But now I do. When I'm actually able to hit a few numbers, it's nice to get a bit more back from those smaller wins.

you get better gratification with playing the pick 3 and 4 games. i never play them and my return on the powerball type games is 10%. in the last 10 years i have been positive only twice because i won a 1000 dollar each time. neither win was on powerball or megamillion but the state lottery. so if you can live with the 10% return. Welcome.

I have always been against Powerplay. For me, if I am going to play $2 I would prefer two chances at the jackpot, however, I decided last Wed. to do powerplay and turned a $3 win into $15. Not alot, but it made me feel better with the win. I will test the powerplay option the next few weeks.

A guaranteed bonus win is a good win, that is if you can figure out which balls will fall.

When I've taken trips to Delaware or Pennsylvania to play Powerball, I would always purchase a set of tickets with Powerplay and a set without. The few dollars I have won out of the game has always come from the set of tickets without Powerplay.

If you goal is to spend only two dollars then you can't lose.

But if you are planning to beat the jackpot games you got to be prepared.

The odds are against you, you have to be very patients, enjoy playing for the seek of playing and pray you get a good system.

Since the odds are so astronomical, I never expect to win PB but I do hope to get the 5 white balls, although I haven't even come close. So I always play $2. I see a lot of wins in FL where the player did not spend the extra $1, and I guess that person is still happy with his/her good fortune. However, there is a huge difference between $200,000 and a million. I would be ecstatic if I won $200,000 but winning $1M would change my life.

I am considering discontinuing my Pick3 and Pick4 play and concentrating the extra money on the bigger payoff games. The P3's and 4's over the years rarely pay back enough for me to break even. Would I be better off putting the extra money on more lines or adding the bonus on the games it is available? Just wondering what most people consider the better option.
