I have enough thought out, that I would be on the lottery doorstep when it opens.

I would still buy from the dollar store! I love dollar stores!

Buy my remote, but not too remote ranch. And build my self supporting house, expensive to build,cheap to maintain,solar,wind,geothermal,greenhouse,swimmin' pool.

If I won 200+ millions, I would get legal help to establish a tax exempt foundation to foster a no-kill shelter for dogs and cats (and other animals) in Tennessee.

There are a lot of heartless people in this state when it comes to animals.

I don't support the large animal welfare agencies we have now because of their meddling in gun rights and hunting rights. I wish they would just stick to taking care of the animals in their care and stay out of politics.

I don't know exactly what I would do, but I would just stick the money in CD's and live off the interest. No wild investments, no stock market. Just nice and conservative.

theres a small coastal town not far from here. and a guest house on the reverse side of the dunes. at night you can hear the waves crashing ashore. you can go walk the beach and if you even see someone its the exception. the pub had a good cook last time I was there to. maybe id buy a dog for company.

i could prob waste 6 months of my life walkin that beach, listing to those waves. Just thinking about what i would do with $200 mill. Maybe i would never know. but there would be no need to own

give some money to all my family relatives because we all came from war and everything was destroyed during the war. buy new car, house. and see every soccer game LIVE, i am going to see one in november 14th BOSNIA AND PORTUGAL LIVE. First, I'd be in shock and extremely happy.

I would thank GOD for answering my prayers.

I would tell no one.

I would make sure that I signed the back of the ticket.

Make multiple copies of the ticket.

Rent a safety deposit box at the bank and keep it there until I decide when to claim it.

Then I need to search for a good and trustworthy estate lawyer and CPA and listen to their advice.

Set up an LLC and possibly a blind trust.

buy a house, furniture, clothes, cars...after i done so in like 6 months, things will slow down and life will start to be kinda boring...because my friends and neighbors will be jelous, people will ask for money, and pretty much most good relationships i had will change or be done cause i will not be common folk anymore and the money will get in between...things will be different and i will be lonely and sad...will need to spend on security for the house and myself and family.. the worst part: m... I would be happy with about 5 ( or 10) million after taxes. I would NOT quit my current job because i truly love it there. I was blessed with that one ( thank you God.) I would simple put it in a standard Cdars bank and earn the minimal interest after building my dream ( non mansion) home and normal car for both my husband and myself.

Honestly, many people here are probably smarter than some financial people out there. Get the advice from here, then go interviewing accountants and financial advisors, using some of the ideas people talk about here.

I agee with Jack Pot, Personally I don't need to win 200 million dollars. I would be just as happy with 5 million after taxes. There are several things that I would do with my new found wealth and giving thanks to God would be on the top of my list. Then I would follow 2 rules of Warren Buffett.

I can't say my list is near as long nore as detailed ...

but I have to admit the few many things mentioned sounds pretty much like what I'd do

'cept I don't have kids and couldn't care less about certain family members

If I won a $200 million plus jackpot this is a few of the things I would do:

Cash my ticket. Pay IRS. Make sure I get the annuity not the cash value of the jackpot. Pay tithes on the jackpot using my annual checks. Thank GOD everyday for the blessing I have received. I would wait awhile. First, to see how many outlandish stories of people losing the ticket pop up. Second, to get all my affairs in order, that would include financial planner, lawyer, CPA etc.

My first purchase: Go out for a really fancy dinner and then jet off to an exotic location to hopefully let the fervor die down a bit.

When your young you can be very stupid with a lot of money..Age is good if you win money..When I hit big I have a brother-in-law who is worth about 8mil..He is in his 70's and smart..That will be the first person I call and ask what to do..He don't mess around when it comes to money he,earned his..I think your family will change a bit and maybe not be happy with what you give them but I hope I'm wrong?..If not so what...

how many have thought about this? sure some of us have spreadsheets already outlining how many people in our family get x amount of dollars, how much goes to charity (quite a bit on my part) and how much goes into trust etc.

do you wait a few months, let the hype cool down?

do you claim anonymous? do you open a trust, hire a lawyer to claim for you?

whats your first purchase?

me personally....

i let the hype die down a few weeks at least. put the ticket in safe deposit box.
