The bible does not specifically say anything about gambling,the word is never mentioned so all of those passages are just APPLIED too gambling bible folks enjoy taking passages in the bible and applying them to certain behaviours we human beings engage in and call it sin or against GOD,but seeing as how I don't follow the bible none of those passages apply too me anyway

GOD does not grant wishes and prayers like that when a person wins the lottery it was all his doing no divine intervention.I read an article awhile back of a guy who was a DRUG dealer that won the lottery and continued too sell drugs and even owed back child support.He got caught and was ordered too pay all support he owed but he was still allowed too keep his lottery win but had too pay for other things because of his conviction.So I cannot believe that GOD decides who wins,answers prayers too

It is only a sin to gamble if you spend the money on yourself, and don't think of others who are in need and could use your financial assistance;

For this conversation, let's take that scenario and tweak it a little....

I never said my church told me to pray for the lottery. I have my own mind and saying a prayer was the way that i want to express myself. I don't pray that people take care of their bodies that there choice as well as cigarette smokers. When and if i buy ticket and i chose to say a pray that my choice.

P.S. My church says not to play the lottery, but I believe that if i won gave them some they would take it no question asked. That is why i decide what i want to do.

I totally agree with your last line. Jackpots should be smaller with more people winning. One person does not need 200 million dollars. Why not let 400 people win a half a million dollars or even 200 people win a million dollars. That isn't rich, by far, in today's economy after taxes but would be a nice nest egg for most. But the lure of those triple digit millions is what gets people to buy more tickets.

I believe anybody should pray as they see fit according to their beliefs. Afterall, praying is just talking to God or if you prefer, the Universe, Buddha, Krishna or the Wu Tang Clan. Just remember that God always answers prayers but sometimes the answer is simply no.

I confess i have prayed for a win mostly because i wanted to help my family live independently for a long time. Among other things. I cut back on my praying for a win and try to focus on winning for the sake of winning.

Mostly i just rub the magic lamp (kidding of course.) but if i had one I'd rub it.

I look at it as preventive medicine, you know, for snakebite and such. I gotta lotta copperheads and rattlers around here and you can never be too careful. I saw an old western once where they poured whiskey on a snakebite so I just apply that modality from the inside. Better safe than sorry. An ounce of prevention and so forth. I use quite a few ounces just to be on the safe side. Can't never be too careful.

I prayed 1 or 2 times, once in a blue moon...

I remember when i was in the USA and i couldnt advance in school i felt hopeless and you could say i prayed i remember i said: i wish i could win the lotto to help my mom and get out of the USA...i didnt pray i wrote it on my email...

This is what i wrote:

solo tu eres santo

solo tu eres digno

tu eres hermoso

y maravilloso

derrama tu espiritu

y que tu luz brille

Gambling is a sin; why would I pray to the Lord to win? That's like praying to the Lord to be obese or praying to the Lord to get drunk faster. I'm a sinner; I play lotto.

The problem with churches these days is that they ignore the fact that Lotto is a form of gambling. Pepper,

Doreen Virtue is an author who has written a prolific number of books about angels.

She mentioned this in one of her books about praying to win the lottery, and said that such prayers usually get no attention because so many people are praying the same prayer.

She implied that by saying such a prayer you are praying that everyone else doesn't hit, and that's just not the way angels work.
