I especially admire the bottom where you say preparation and opportunity meet . Priceless. Failing to prepare is preparing for failure...within reason. I don't play all the time which requires lots of discipline because I conduct ghost runs on drawings not tailored to how I normally play. When I hit, I sometimes feel bad 'cause it could've been money in the bank. On the other hand, it could've been money back in the house's bank...'cause I strayed from my application and got greedy.

A lot of people did it yesterday, and hit the, 555, 1088 people hit the pick 3 on 555's, so, I know quite a few people had $10 + on that number.

I hate I missed it, and I called it, I said, play, 444's, 555's, and 888's, because, they ran 458 3 x's in the same week.

I used to play 1846 $10 Straight because I had a dream it came out straight b4 it actually did. I dont mind playing $10 straight if it's a # I really like espcially in Pick 4 since $10 straight = a $50,000.00 win. However I was disspointed on December 27th 2009 when 1846 came out straight and I didnt bet a penny on it. I've learned a valuable lesson since then dont drop a # you think will hit.

Lord knows it's crossed my mind numerous times...especially when I see signs of it everywhere or if I had a dream about it.

For Pick 4, the most I've played on one number is 12.00. I split it even boxed, straight-boxed and straight. It didn't come out that day, but it did about 4 days later.

yeah different states have different playslips. Like I can only play up to $1 in IL and can't multidraw nor do quickpick. I always use payslip because don't trust most people at terminal to get it right.

Not in MD. at least if it is over $600. I am talking $600+ here in MD. Minimum bet is .50/.50 24 way box / str. on P4 and that pays $2600 on one ticket, you will get a 1099G. Again you can deduct up the amount won if you are being legit............right? Now one way to reduce that amount taxable is by playing the box separately, removing $100 box hit off the $2600 down to $2500. I just get straights and Str/Boxes to cover the box hit. Now if its a 12 way box you go to $2700 or $200 less taxable

There is no way around paying taxes when you hit P4 straight, you WILL pay the taxes. All you can do is deduct up to the amount you spent the tax year you won when tax time rolls around. Make sure you hold on to those losing tix becuase they are the only proof you will have, if you (God forbid) get audited.

For eg. if you hit $80K I suggest you go to lottery headquarters and collect because they can withhold right on the spot and when tax time rolls around you have paid the taxes and can clai... [ More ]

The minimum bet at race tracks is $2 and trifectas are based on $2 bets so betting $2 on 10/68 to get half the payoff was the only bet you could have made. You can't bet just $1.
