I would've purchased the tickets but I wouldn't return to that retailer in the future, at least not for a while. I would offer to go in halfsies with the retailer on them? if he did go in for half then I would forgive the mistake as he's bourne some of the cost of that mistake.

The way I look at it is the ones I get by mistake can't do any worse than the ones I get on purpose!

I actually got a Pick3 Str8 like that one time when the girl punched in the wrong number. I was glad I took it.

Dont know if its the same one you remember hearing about or not.....but sounds similiar , and this one happened about half hour North of me in West Union , Ohio , quite a few years ago

if the cashier is known, it's probably their ticket and they didn't like the numbers.

I wouldn't have bought them. Years ago when I used to sell lottery tickets my boss always bought the mistakes. He never won a dime. I hate QP's anyway and always choose my own numbers. Won way more with those than with any machine pick.

lottocalgal mentioned incentives . Stores used to get 6 cents a ticket commission, don't know what it is anymore. I don't believe that anyone prints tickets by mistake, it just happens sometimes but someone's got to buy it. A store owner would go broke if they... [ More ]

What's the difference in buying a mistake or a QP..It's all the same,a QP..You will always be able to say you bought a mistake and maybe won on it..I'd buy it in a heart beat..

That's happened to me many times and I've learned to say no thanks because I didn't ask for them. Some people see it as an omen and they will win, but would they eat a well done steak when they ordered it rare

one of the gas stations i'd go to always had extra tickets. sometimes i'd bite but ,i never won. now i say no thanks. I wonder if theres an island of misfit tickets

Personally I would have never told the clerk that it was a mistake. I simple would have taken the ticket and marched out. The odds of it even being a winner is astronomical but even so, my thoughts are, I purchased that ticket many times over throughout the years! they can take the cost out of the thousands of losers I have purchased! id go with my own tickets, theyre what i want entered and what i paid for.

we can cancel tickets at the same terminal they where bought from upto an hour or so before the draw.

so i dont know how it is over there in USA, kinda sucks you paying for vclerks mistakes by buying their tickets.

If i was a lottery comission, id have set rules for agents buying own tickets like only llowed to be bought between sertin hours say after closinf time till half hour later. other thn that ll clai... [ More ]

Honestly, for $10 worth of extra tickets, I probably wouldn't have bought them. If it had been 1 or 2 tickets, maybe, but I have a certain amount I like to spend and ten dollars worth would be going way over that.

There have been a couple of stories like that in the LP News that I recall. A clerk didn't cancel a mistake and found out the next morning it was a big winner and bought it and the store owner complained it belonged to him since he had alway paid for mistakes that his clerks didn't cancel, losers and winners. And then there the story of the clerk that couldn't cancel or sell an extra ticket printed by mistake so she paid for it and found out the next morning it was a big winner.

If I had the cash I would have bought them. If I make a mistake filling out a slip by selecting the wrong number I usually go and ahead and play them if I have the cash on hand. I had a betslip that the machine chewed up, literally tore a third of a card off. So I went and refilled out the card, because I was sure it was a sign of good things to come. It would make a good story if I hit off of that payslip but sadly got nada. So I should probably say no to these goofs but I don't.

I vaguely remember a story from years and years ago about a mistake ticket printed and refused by somebody if I recall it right.

It turned out to be a major jackpot winner and the owner and employee were in court fighting over who's ticket it was.

I don't know how that ended but they won't get the chance with me, I always take 'em.

I would have said No Thanks .

The other day I gave a clerk my MM play slips to run and she asked if I wanted $5 worth of QPs. She had printed an extra $5 ticket that she was trying to get rid of. I told her No Thanks, my own mistakes cost enough .

The same thing happen to me with pick 3.

I told the clerk that she gave me the wrong ticket because i use the slip with the choose of 186 . I did buy the number the machine gave me 494 with my own slip ........................and on my own slip was 186..............which i had to replay ..........and very good that i had look and replay because my own number was a winner.

You never know........ i was wondering if that was a sign that i should have play 494 instead of 186.

If I didn't I probably would have gone home and thought about it too much

go cash in some cans or something and go back to the store.

It would bother me too much to let someone else get them

After printing my Fantasy 5 tickets for tonights draw, the clerk tells me the amount, which is $10 more than I played. We look at the tickets and the machine had printed out 10 quick-picks on a single ticket. I told the clerk that wasn't mine and he cheked my playslips and agreed, I was correct. He asked me if I wanted to purchase them........................................what would you have done?????????? I will answer that question tomorrow morning.
