Since three jackpots (1 Lotto and 2 Little Lotto) were hit in liquor stores in Illinois on Saturday night, Aug 13th, some residents are petitioning to get a liquor store here in the Institute.

One insists that no one who had bought a winning ticket at a liquor store has ever done so without taking a nip while filling out the playslip.

Another of our residents is working on playing nothing but football scores.

A couple of our residents went off on tangents about persistence recently and have been driving themselves a little more batty than usual.

One tried doing a search here on LP using the word dream .

Another insists that picking a set of six numbers, five of them in regualr numerals and one in Roman numerals is the key to winning jackpots but is having a heck of a time trying to find such a playslip.

Interesting couple of week here at the Institute.

Some guys from the phone company put a phone booth in the lobby. Yup, not just a pay phone but a phone booth. Well, it looked like a phone booth but the booth contained an ATM and an awful lot of playslips, and a phone.

Someone mentioned that they weren't sure which came first, Keno or the abacus, and that Keno helped finance the great Wall of China. The original tickets had 80 Chineses alphabet characters, not numbers, and many people simply played their names.

We just got word that the no such thing as luck speaker only suffered a sprain and was released. On the way back though, he walked under a ladder to once again prove there's no good or bad luck, but right after he did he slipped on a banana peel and had to go back to the clinic.

It turns out there was a penny under the banana peel, heads up by the way, and someone else picked up that penny and used it to scratch an instant ticket and won $200.

He went out to get some props and was coming back with a black cat, wearing a jersey with the number 13 on the back, stepping on cracks on the sidewalk, all the way back to the meeting, and stepped on a cricket.

As he was coming up the stairs he slipped and fell down a flight and will be laid up for a few days.

The discussion about luck is still going on and we have a special guest this weekend coming in to explain how it is easier to hit a Pick 4 than a Pick 3.

There is also a pool going on about whether that guest will become a permanent resident here at the Institute or not.

One of our residents is telling stories about a bird that comes by his window every morning and chirps out the upcoming Mid Day Pick 3.

Most of the UFOs that have been sighted near Earth are from the Zeta-Reticuli Star system.

We had a rosuing discussion the other day at the Institute about whether or not luck exists.

Anyone who wanted to took a turn speaking from a podium in front of the room. Several residents stated why they believed in luck and then one got up to state why he didn't believe in luck and said infact, there was no such thing.
