Thanks for confirmation but still is more than expected, I still don't understand why there is so many combos generated from 3260 triples, just for the record how many combos can you generate from 18,000 all possible triples? Going with the same ratio it would be about 25 millions when we know the total combo is just below 14 mil!!

I just don't understand it but thanks anyway but I will come back with more detail when I find out more!

It is obviously an error of typing on my behalf but I would have never guessed it will come to nearly 9 mil despite removing all repeated numbers!!!

Who would believe from 163 lines to 9 millions of combinations seems to be impossible but looks like is true!

I am using UK results based on the same thing but using specific link number to join the sets again and it only comes to below 300 to 400 results if that but it is very hard to create all the lines in time manually!

May be I am a bet optimistic but as I am creating all the wheels and comparing it to UK results not only the size of the wheels are shrinking but some amazing information is popping out!

I am sure the guys who can write the codes they know how to create database file with reference points for all the wheels such as what number from what wheel and what line!

There is so much information can be added to database as well as extracted from it!

In reading Mo's post, I am wondering about the search procedure.

I would agree that the initial search of the most recent draw (to create File A) would need a full search of the database. But I think partial searches are needed to create File B. This might mean, if not already, that your database may need to be sorted by date. Why?

My thinking is that draws selected in File A can only be searched up to the date that that particular line was drawn. Having 6-7 different lotteries i... [ More ]

If you set the program to find match3s then there will be lots of matches to new draw, this is one of the reasons that I like the program to give us the choice of search. This will also allow us to search 3 from file A with match 4s from file B (what Chester was talking about match 7s) or the reverse!

That sounds like a great new way of interpreting the draw results. I have tested out the first part using our limited local history and got the following:

Draw 949 06,10,11,21,41,43,49 = 7 M4s in all results, 0 line has match 3 to new draw

Draw 950 10,11,24,29,33,44,47 = 22 M4s in all results, 4 lines has match 3 to new draw, 1 line has match 5 to new draw

I have been trying to find out where we re going wrong and this is my conclusion for the time being;

I started to do some back testing in order to reduce the number of predicted lines so I started strictly UK lotto results to find the positive links between the draws from this point,

23/12/2009,18,15,32,36,37,26,22 = 19 M4s in all results, 1 line has match 3 to new draw

26/12/2009,08,25,36,23,02,42,30 = 23 M4s in all results, 0 line has match 3 to new draw

I did the same test for match 6s instead of match 7 and I found 530 lines of match 6s to my 21 unique numbers! When I searched for Sat result after removing bonus ball within those matches there are;

61 match 3s to Sat result

07 match 4s to Sat result

To play pick 3s or pick 4s will cost 18,550 (35 wheels) but how much we would have won?

I think it would have been a very good return for the investment!

Yes, we do have problems, these are what I see at the moment:

We do not have enough draws in our database to handle results which include numbers in the thirties and forties. We just don't have enough matches to make predictions with. As previously noted if the draws A and B include a common number then we do not generate any predictions using those numbers. This will significantly reduce our chances to get greater than match5. I'm looking strictly for match3 using DrawA and DrawB, not match3 or greater so the way the prediction algorithm is currently implemented is why you never see any of the balls in DrawA or DrawB as a link ball.

No your not rambling this is important to discuss. There is no right or wrong way in making predictions. The way I initially implemented the prediction algorithm was how I intrepreted what Moses wanted. If I did it wrong then it can be fixed. Maybe we want to have the prediction algorithm configurable where we can do it a number of different ways. You may have some matches regardless. If the number doesn't show up in Draw A's match list (because the number was marked for elimination), it might appear in Draw B's match list - unless the number was higlighted on both list. A minor problem perhaps.

As you yourselves have pointed out, the problem of repeated numbers from the previous draw is very important. Here is the situation I have found with the UK Main Lotto to date. Some may find it useful in making their own strategies.

1 main # repeated from the previous draw : 603 40.94%

2 main #'s repeated from the previous draw : 215 14.60%

3 main #'s repeated from the previous draw : 22 1.49% ... ... ... TOTAL (1+2+3) = 57.03%

I used and participated in discussions on Patrick's program (which included a Moses section) and others for a long time before the development stopped.

Moses said why the program can only produce match 5 and match 5+ BB but no match 6 or even 7s, . Even though the lotto is choosing 7 balls, we the users are only choosing 6 balls in our predictions so the best we can hope to match against the actual results draw is 6. You would think match6 would happen as often as match5BB, because we are comparing our 6 numbers against 7 numbers but so far I have seen no Match6.

The code is not that smart right now. In your example above the draw 46-15-17-28-16-32-22 is a draw for Draw A results. 14-28-11-04-15-42-46 is in Draw B results. You then take the unmatched numbers from both draws.

A. 46-15-32-22 B. 28-11-15-46. If they have only 1 common number between them then remove the common number and combine them into a prediction. If they have 0 common or more that 1 common number then I don't create a prediction from them because you would not have 6 unique numbers... [ More ]

Back to your questions; you can combine 4's and 5's but you cannot produce anymore than 7 numbers string so if you're taking match 4's from file A then you can only select results from file B which have at least one link and additional of three number (3 + 1 link = 1... [ More ]

Until I can test the new software I am trying to work it out by hand but I have some questions:

1. Do you only use match 3's joined to match 3's which creates six numbers combinations when removing the two linking numbers ? What about match 4's and match 5's in the past?

2. What do you do when you have two linking numbers instead of one (eg. 46-15-17-28-16-32-22 and 14-28-11-04-15-42-46)? If you remove both then you create a four number combination.

Just want to say one more thing the program is just a tool to quickly do all the grunt work that would take along time to do by hand. Its the observations and relationships you can find in your lottery(s) that is important. If we have to build a custom alogirthm for each lottery to match the observations then so be it. Moses theory is that all the UK lotteries are linked together, he believes they share numbers between draws that happen on the same day. I believe for UK lotteries they are all controlled by Camelot/G-Tech, I don't know if that is the case for Canadian lotteries. So if you think all the Canada lotteries are linked together in sharing numbers then you should build a database with all of the results. When Mo states, local lottery I ask the question about what that really means. In his examples, he's using 5 to 7 lotteries from the UK for his analysis. As for those folks in the US/Canada, each state/province has their own lottery as well as National lotteries.

So can it be adapted to another game. Probably but we would have to change the prediction algorithm. I tried to explain it awhile back. So lets re-hash it now.

1) Moses has provided a database of all past UK lotteries draws. Each draw contains 7 numbers.

2) Then you choose two draws to predict with. I have been using the last 2 UK Lotto draws but they don't have to be. I have been calling them DrawA and DrawB.

3) You then check for a match3 against DrawA and then check for a match3 agai... [ More ]

After further back testing the results are not that great, the program seems to work better when the draws contain lower numbers. When the draws contain higher numbers we generate alot less predictions (typcially 10000 or less) but we get alot less hits and are not profitable. This would indicate that in our current database it seems some draws are better than others.

Generated a total of 56047 predictions.

Removed 2978 duplicate predictions.

File Test\FinalPredictions.txt contains 53069 generated predictions.

It will be interesting to know since I commented above about throwing out 01 as a number if Camelot is listening and will seed all the results tomorrow in the UK draws with 01. But If I know what they are thinking how do they know that I am not just pushing them in the direction I want them to go. Sounds like a Pumpi conspiracy theory to me.
