Since MegaMillions was already competitive with PowerBall with only 12 states contributing to its jackpot, having 25 states contributing to its jackpot could not only means it could start out with a larger jackpot but its jackpot could also climb faster than PB's which could make it the more preferred game of the two.

I just figured the starting amount would stay the same. but yes I guess they probably will make some changes

23 PowerBall states and Washington D.C. will start selling MegaMillions tickets on Jan. 31, I wonder if the starting jackpot amount will also increase.

CLEVELAND The Ohio Lottery announced today that it will move forward with its plans to sell the multi-state jackpot game, Powerball.

The Ohio Lottery will bring draft game rules for Powerball before Ohio Lottery commissioners on Monday, Jan. 25. If approved, the rules would receive a public hearing and go before the Joint Committee for Agency Rule Review (JCARR). The rule would become final this spring, permitting Ohio to sell Powerball at that time.
