What is a TPRGN

Here are 10 lines below created by lottery post quick pick generator for mega millions To me their as good a set of numbers as any other set of numbers. A person could alter the picks to suit them but then they become self picks. The whole idea of using a RNG to select the numbers is to get a set of numbers that are void of player input.

Any RNG system that is otherwise altered from it's original form isn't an true random number generator a program that selects numbers... [ More ]

It's a bit much to expect a quick pick algorithm to choose the winning number for you all the time but I would appreciate the option of specifying no two bonus balls be the same and no two lines to share any 2 or 3 number combinations depending on the minimum number of matches for a minimal win. That way, when you buy five lines on one ticket, you know you're getting the maximum number of chances by not overlapping the combinations. When you think about it, it would be almost fraudulent for them... [ More ]

It wouldn't be totally random if the RNG has filters.

Now, I have been using LP's RNG, but I also decide which lines to play off of it. For example, for Tx Lotto, it's a 6/54 game. There are 6 decades in the matrix, but most draws only 4 decades play, (singles, teens, 20's 40's just for example). So I pick which line fits the filter of playing 4 decades. Obviously, this is not totally random, but it allows me to have some randomness along with playing what happens more frequently in the draws... [ More ]

Todd explained what an RNG is if you applied a filter to it it would be like a self pick.

A random number generator (often abbreviated as RNG) is a computational or physical device designed to generate a sequence of numbers or symbols that lack any pattern, i.e. appear random. Hardware-based systems for random number generation are widely used, but often fall short of this goal, though they may meet some of the statistical tests for randomness intended to ensure that they do not have any... [ More ]

Some members have suggested accomplishing what you suggest by using a random number generator to generate a bunch of combinations and then filtering out the ones that are past winners but I find it's easier and takes less memory to check the combinations with a draw file and eliminate them as they are generated. MegaMillions, a 5/56 game with almost four millions possible combinations of fives has had less than 1400 drawings so using past drawings is not likely to eliminate many of your picks.... [ More ]

Having a completely random number generator is a great idea but generating a bunch of lines and choosing some of them to play will introduce some bias in the ones you play regardless.
