Most gamblers will continue to gamble after they win some will even spend huge amounts of money on gambling.

Some logical people might shy away from gambling but there will probably still be an urge to play again thinking if i won once i just might win again.

It seems Im the opposite of everyone here ( so far) If someone I knew won a jackpot I would stop playing and If ( when) I win the SLP jackpot I definately would stop playing. I mean, after winning I have enough to live off so to me there would be no need.

Then I think of Jack Whittaker who kept playing and won the 10k. (Didnt he say he'd wish he'd torn the ticket up?) Anyway, the good news is If someone here at LP announced a winner, I would continue to play as I don't real... [ More ]

I was born with a severe heart defect. I had to have two bypasses and one open heart before the age of three. What are the odds of someone being born with my heart defect? What are the odds of complete repair, needing no surgery whatsoever for the rest of my life? Both pretty great odds. Sometimes I think I got all my luck after birth, i won't ever win a JP. But it doesn't really stop me from playing

If the odds go from 195-million-to-one to a-billion-to-one, it's still the same to me, just a shot in the dark.

The way I look at it is somebody is going to beat those odds no matter how high they are and there's a chance it could be you as well as anyone else. The odds against you winning are astronomical before a friend or neighbor wins and they're astronomical after a friend or neighbor wins.

The only constant is that you will never beat the odds if you don't buy a ticket.

is rare to see such events but you still have the same odds as everyone else in the USA it can go anybody s way and since the author is not paying attention to the quick picks, a quick pick is a random choice to come to the conclusion the author is making she must have to know the terminals machine and computers game or encryption of the tickets and see how they function but still you have the same odds as everyone else though i think that certain regions (not locations) have odds just a little

The odds of anyone winning is astronomical so why would I stop playing just because someone I knew won. There have been recorded cases of players winning large payouts in more than one game sometimes three or four years after winning the first.

If you stop playing when someone you know wins that's one less person keeping me from winning.

I'd say very few, if any.

I love reading the book Lottery by Patricia woods. Actually I listen to it since its an audio.

The other day I was listening to it and there was a section where a character said she would stop playing MM because her friend, the main character, had already won the WA state lottery and that the odds of her winning and having a close friend who won is astronomical (sp?)
