I often play consecutive numbers because it does happen frequently. Don't buck a trend, make it your friend.

Yep. KY Floyd is correct. Here are the raw numbers for a 5/39 and 5/59 (no bonus ball).

Consec = difference of 1 between two numbers: 2,3,4,13,20 equals 2 consecs as does 2,3,7,8,34

It may get easier but it doesn't get more likely. As the number pool gets bigger there are more combinations with consecutive numbers, but there are also more combinations without them, and it's the combinations without that increase faster. That means that consecutive numbers are less likely as the size of the matrix increases. Drawing more numbers obviously increases the chances for consecutive numbers, since each number drawn is another chance to have a consecutive number.

It is a common occurence happens about 35% over the course of the year to both games.

By the way, the consecutive numers of 39,40 have occured 9 times in the last 482 draws.

Consecutive numbers come up quite frequently.

Another one to check out is last digits.

Also repeat numbers.

Is this random? For you to decide.

For me, it's a profile that's part of the lottery draw.

As more numbers make up a drawing and as the number pool grows, it gets easier to have combos that contain consecutives than combos that don't.

I dont know if its just me but does anybody else think its jus wierd how all these Consecutive number combos keep coming up every drawing with powerball, Mega Millions and some pick 5 games...just seems strange to me but i guess thats the randomness......
