Tiggs, sounds like you have had happy experience in the winners circle-

Comparing Tracks: Might be hard to believe, but when comparing Oaklawn Park and Santa Anita (Zenyatta's home track), Zenyatta should get the edge in terms of track configuration. The turns will be almost identical, but the straightaways are longer.

The greatest race I ever saw on TV was Secretariat winning the 1973 Belmont..Probably the best horse I ever bet on was Stonyland thet I won 300.00 on in Detroit around 1963..:):)..for a 15.00 combo..

AK: WHAT HORSE WILL BENEFIT FROM TRACK BIAS COORDINATES ETC

Wondering is there any advantage to either Zenyatta or Rachel because of Oaklawn Park s track configuration; not speaking of the surface; but the geometric shape of the track.

After downloading Google Earth picture of Oaklawn Park and presently converting it to a 2D outline drawing at a 1/200th scale.

The dimensions t found are:

Shortest distance around the turns = 1,290 feet

Width around the turns = 80 feet

ONCE IN A LIFETIME

What can you compare this to? The excitement. The build up. The comparisons? Whos better Zenyatta or Rachel? Aside of the Aside of Seabiscut Vs War Admiral contest, there have been rivalries over the most recent 35 years, Affirmed/Alydar etc but Rachel and Zenyatta will probably only meet once and you could ask to experts and once would say Zenyatta is the better horse, and the other would say Rachel. This just seems like a once in a lifetime race. 2 superfillys..

I like the 2 out of 3 idea but I wonder if the track would find it viable?

Still, this could be one of the most challeging race offs since depression era when underdog 'Seabuscut' upset Triple Crown fav 'War Admiral' in 1938!

Hope fully there won't be any surprise snow storms to contend with @Oakland in April but then, You never can tell....

OK satire aside, as it stands now, who do you like?
