The nearest miss I had was 3+0. If I got 5+0 I would not take it well because I would probably not get that close again.

That near miss (small win) money seems to be lucky for me. Whenever I turn around and put it on something else I seem to keep the process going with the small wins. Lately I've even been hitting on scratchers with it. One of these days...

This dilemma is more frequent than you might think. It's happened to me with the Florida Fantasy 5.

I was happy that i won 720 bucks, but at the same time i was off by one...I know.....That feeling.

But one thing I try to spread as far as messages is that bad things can happen with the same odds as the good things that can happen.

Let's cherish and respect the good moments now. I think the word NOW is the key word.

Thanks all! I appreciate your advice and support. The secondary prize was $194.00, but I matched a couple of numbers in another set, bringing the amount I won up to $197.00. I think the second prize was around $320.00 something when the jackpot reached a million. I agree, the secondary prize should be more. Many years ago I match 5 out 6 when the Lotto jackpot was $40 million and won $868, but I looked at from the other point of view; If only my missing number had been drawn . Are we trying to match the numbers that will be drawn or are we playing numbers in combinations that we hope will be drawn?

Think of it this way Wildspecks,

Near misses get you something. Like, 2 of 5 gets you nothing right? But lets say (for Calif Fantasy Five) a near miss of 3 of 5 gets you an extra $5 or even $10 of free play or in my case was money to pay for a coworker s lunch after he helped me with HTML and CSS coding.

Or the near miss of the 4 of 5 that i got which gave me the opportunity to pay a few bills and buy extra QPs, and purchasing a new Handbang.

The odds of matching 4 of 5 in the Carolina Cash 5 are 1 in 3387 and the prize is pari-mutuel. The percentage of the prize pool, I think, hovers around 15%. But still, I think that the prize for 1 in 3387 should be AT LEAST $1,000. I would not mind smaller jackpots if it meant higher payouts for lower prizes in the game.

I almost always play Pick-3. In 2006 it seemed like almost every day that I played (about 3 or 4 times a month) I would miss winning $40 (a box in straight-box) by 1 digit. It usually didn't affect me since it was just a small amount of money.

Wildspecks, my game is Pick4 and pick3 not much Lotto or mega hardly at all, but when I miss it by one in the Pick4; I run to my work out sheet to see where I turned left when I should have gone straight! and I make my corrections just in case the thread of numbers come back that way again! and then I keep it moving.

I don't want to talk much about the near misses I deal with on a daily basis, playing the pick 3 and pick 4.

Today, midday, I played, 401, it dropped this evening, I did not have it?

I'm sure this topic has been posted before, but I am fairly new to the forums and just wanted some advice. Saturday night, I hit 4 out of 5 on Carolina Cash 5.
