How long do you keep old (non winning), lottery tickets?

I used to rent a small wharehouse to keep all those tickets, but recently had to throw all of it out due to the high cost of renting that place. He raised the rent so I had give up keeping the bags of tickets. I had 538 industrial sized garbage bags.

Well I have a ticket I am going to hold on to that forever, because I am going to keep replaying it. I bought this ticket in the florida powerball and all the digits came out in the florida lottery instead. WOW!

here were the numbers, 08, 23, 24, 32, 33 the pb 24 back in July 09

If they're not winners I toss them. I don't have anything to itemize on my taxes so no sense saving the tickets.

I do the same thing however, I cannot speak for my Dad--I know he's kept his losing tickets for years

losing tickets are kept for an exhaustive 3 seconds, just long enough to see that 3 numbers didn't match.

I usually don't keep them very long.....Of course I have be known to find old tickets I've used as bookmarks from many years ago! I have a few old The Big Game tickets and Florida Lotto tickets from the Early 90's....

Either of you got a QP from the beginning of March 2007 or 2008?

I've got one from March 3, 2007. The numbers on the ticket are listed below: I'll pay these for the next 2 weeks to see which numbers fall. I did this for February and just about got a free ticket or a couple of dollars every day.

7 10 27 32 39

5 19 33 34 38

14 26 33 35 57

I keep them for 7 years with my taxes..after 7 years everything goes right in the firepit. if i can't claim them that year than i throw them in the firepit faster. maybe i should cut out the middle man and just throw my money in the firepit. (just kidding).

I usually hold my lottery tickets for 6 years (yes, I'm one of those people who write them off on my taxes. I'm wondering how long the majority of LP people hold on to old tickets. If they use those old tickets as a way to figure out what's coming next, etc.
