Maryland finally had 4 winners of $10,000.00 in last nights drawing of MegaMillion,(I was not one of them).

This is the most I've see. Probably beccause of the larger number of people who played because of the larger Jackpot.

Hey Raven. Although I'm frustrated over the poor payoffs that we have been getting here, I'm too addicted to stop. And maybe, to much of a dreamer to give up the possibility of hitting or missing out on that big illusive hit that we all seek. I'm still picking up at the least, 5 tickets. I have, since posting this thread, won...NOTHING. But, I keep trying.

Maryland actually did better than should be expected if those numbers are accurate. Just under 4.01% of tickets were sold in MD, but the $150 winners in MD amount to a hair over 4.35% of the total winners. Of course that's well within the range of what shoud be expected from a random distribution.

FWIW, NY had 367 winners, which is 14.9% of the total, but bought 15.7% of the tickets.

I know it's just numbers and a similar play, but somehow I can't quite get a reading on MegaMillions as I do occasionally on Powerball. Perhaps with more practice . . . .

I've always been a little bit of a skeptic when it comes to Megamillion, I guess that is why I use to travel to other States or DC to play Powerball before it came to our GREAT State. (I have cashed in more with Powerball than I have with Mega.)

I don't particularly like Powerballs payout on the lower tiers, unless playing powerplay.

Litebets this was only a 20 million dollar pot. Maryland has had many 5-4-3-2-1 winners most weeks and lots of 5+0 winners in the last few years.

Now that we have powerball more people probably gonna bet on the larger powerball pot instead of the smaller mega mil.

Figure out the percentage!

Nationwide Ticket Sales=21,088,618

Maryland Ticket Sales=859,298

The percentage for Maryland looks to be inline with the Nationwide percentage.

PS: Washington had 400,000 in Ticket Sales and two 5+0 Winners

Texas had 166 $150 winners.

Remember, the odds of a 3+1 hit are 13,781 to 1, and a 4+0 hit are 15,313 to 1. If I were just playing for that, Pick 3 would look mighty good. LOL.

It always surprises me when I look back at the payout for Maryland Megamillion participants. Knowing that the majority of players buy random picks, this breakdown leaves me to wonder about the randomness in our machines.

Maryland had 107 people to win $150.00. (Amazing). Makes you not want to play megamillion here.

I was wondering just how bad or how good all of the other participating States breakdown on their winners look.
