on my last trip playing craps, I discovered the beauty of the C E bets, particularly on the come out roll. YOu can place a $2 C and E bet and if you lose your pass line bet with a craps roll at least you have this as backup.

works good for insurance on the pass line, and a bonus if the eleven hits (get paid on the pass and the E bet)

It really made me happy when I was shooting, setting for a 7, bet on passline and bet on C and E and I hit something like a 7, 7, 11, 7, 11

Ok that's more like it. And remember to keep your eye on the yo and 3. It's uncanny how often they hit. We've mad some serious change playing them. Yes you will lose some, but it seems to always come back big. A nice hedge bet is the yo and 3 with a field bet also. You break even till the yo or 3 hit. Good luck

It's actually Don't Come bets I think. On each roll you place an odds bet on the last roll's Don't Come outcome, and place a new Don't Come bet. When a seven hits you get paid on each odds bet and number you have played. It's definitely a more challenging way to play, just to keep up with the action.

Todd, I seriously want to understand your method of craps but I can't figure out what you mean. You bet a don't pass ok, waiting for a seven. Then come bets on each roll. Well, when the seven hits you lose all your come bets??? What's up

It sucks when it pans out that way -- you get up a good bit but keep going, not knowing when it will start going downhill and before you know it, you are out. Works the opposite way too -- sometimes you keep playing and HAVE to walk away or else your wife will leave you at the casino forever and possibly divorce you if you dont leave with her.

This underlines the importance of teaching the wife: you never walk away from a heater at the craps table

I went to Mohegan Sun in Ct. the other day, I lost $200 in 1 hour. I was up $150 at one point, and down to $20, it was a roller coaster. I have made more money and make more money playing numbers. I play license plate numbers, phone numbers, birth and deathdays, amounts on my utility bills. I never use a system. ah yes, I see now. That is funny. I will definitely do that to the dealers in Tunica the next time I am there too -- those guys were a bunch of comedians...but they were also good and good to work with. Which helped because i spent 8+ hours there around them lol.

I will ask this to the Biloxi dealers as well.

Re: the 2 and 12.........as you said, they are even. As for the dealers asked that, since they see thousands of rolls a wekk, they should know that.

Coin Toss: I figured Metropolis loves them some Nashville customers. Quite a bit of advertisements around, plus they run busses I hear to and fro quite a bit.

Funny how Cape Girardeau is changing their mind. Maybe the economy has got them thinking better. I have heard St Louis has good casinos but never been to them.

I think the old guy may have just gotten mixed up. Seems like he was sometimes betting the firebet but not often enough apparently.

A very large portion of Metropolis' business comes from Nashville. People hear Illinois and think Chicago but as you know there's quite a difference.

Now Cape Girardeau, Missouri is talking about a casino although they didn't want any part of one when it was proposed in 1993.

That old guy at the Horseshoe could have just been mistaken or what is known as a claim jumper. Nice to have surveillance on your side!

Yes, NextShooter is a terrific site and also where I learned of the firebet.

I played it at Harrah's and the HorseShoe in Tunica (both harrah's properties). I have heard that all Harrah's have the firebet now.

Obviously you want to only use it if a shooter is a good one. I reckon it was set up intentionally for dice setters/influencers. I love that casino embraces dice setters (more or less) instead of running them off like card counters.

My favorite hangout when I was down there was the Casino Magic. It was brand new when I was there. I liked the rooms a lot -- especially when they comped them to me. (The huge rooms with the hot tubs were the best.)

The Beau Rivage was under construction at the time, but word is that it's the best casino in the area right now. I can't speak from experience though, since it was just steel columns when I last saw it.

Firebet got me curious. I'm a dinosaur from the 1980s and 90s and had never heard of it, so I did a search.

In your earlier post you mentionsed collecting the payoffs on a 7-out while eveybody else was losing their bets, and you said laying odds on the come bets. If you bet on the number and bet odds you are taking odds, not laying them.

When you take odds you make a bet to get paid more than the bet depending on the nnumber, when you lay odds the payoff is less than the bet, depending on the number.

There are a number of good casinos along the MS gulf coast -- just East of Biloxi. Some of the hotels there are really nice, so you can make a few days of it (or a week), and you can hit a number of good casinos during your time there. All the casinos allow a top odds bets of 10x on the craps tables, which is great. (Maybe an even higher odds bets in recent years? It's been a while.

I do mean come bets. Playing the don't pass line allows you to place come bets on almost every roll. Have you ever played the don't pass line?

Come bets are placed before the dice is rolled, and they don't go on any number. They are moved to a number after the number is set by the roller. Then you can place odds behind the number.

I think you men don't come bets..come bets go on the number and you can take odds, don't come bets go behind the number and you lay odds.

I saw a lot of money won on those bets in the middle - the props. High pc for the house, yes, but whn they hit they hit. Parlayoing a Horn bet is one of the strongest bets on the table. It's uncanny how often the naturals all roll together.

Yes, there are far too few casinos. At least 1 in every state would be sufficient.

What is the casino they advertise in Atlanta? I think maybe they pointtowards new Orleans. And also the Charlotte NC one but it's worthless-- video machines and slots only. What a waste.

Oh, And if u have an iPhone there is a great free craps app out. Not sure when it hit but it even has the dealer say the calls and is very accurate.

This is pretty much what I do for the pass line, starting with 6 and 8 usually. If the point is either one of those I will usually go to 5 or 9, depending on how the table is (hot or cold).

Odds are *key* and I play the behind the pass line odds, as the house has no advantage on these and it's free money.

Sometimes if I am hitting points and I am up, I will bet a little on the hardways. For instance, if point is 8 or 10, I might put a $5 on the hard 8 or hard 10. That way if my point hits... [ More ]

Another bet I like is the big red, or 7 in a come out. I also hop bets, like when a 5 is rolled, I hop a 9 and visa versa. I also watch the stick man and dice rolling off the table, one time a dealer blew his nose and this older fellow next to me said sh*t take me off on all bets, and he put $50 on any 7, sure enough, 7 rolled.

When you bet don't pass , you simply continue to lay come bets on each roll, and then each time a new number is rolled (and your come bet is placed), you immediately lay a maximum odds bet on top of that, and in the same motion lay a new come bet. Continue doing that until you eventually have odds bets on each number (if all goes well, of course).

But i must say, i have very rarely bet on the dont pass. I have done better on the pass line and mostly the inside numbers, but it all depends on the table.

My question to you is, when you bet dont pass, how do you bet on the inside numbers -- are you placing your bets, laying your bets, or using 'come' bets,?

I think I will have the opportunity to play craps next weekend so I am stoked

YES!!!

Craps is one of my two favorite casino games, and is the one I almost always make money at.

The reason most people lose at craps is because they use the sucker bets in the middle of the table.

The best thing is when you can learn enough about the game and how to wager correctly that you can graduate to betting against the roller. I have attained some huge wins this way when a seven pops up, and I have bets on every number. Everyone else at the table is grumbling about the seven c... [ More ]

..........I do not know much about craps except when i played a few times in a friends apt in Oxnard, CA. on the kitchen floor AND the dice had to hit the wall...i was down something like $60 bucks and the next thing i knew i was up almost $400...still don't know how i did it....LOL

Oh if you guys had been parlaying those hard 8's! A thousand dollar dollar is three parlays off of a dollar hard six or eight. (Start with $1 and $1,000 and down).

I love these types of stories!

You will hear some people say dont bet those hardway bets (such as hard 8, hard 10, etc) or dont bet the field bets, they are sucker bets (such as the 2,3,4,9,10,11,12) yet in a heartbeat someone will begin playing and score mad cash on these bets.

A couple guys walked up to the NYNY casino in Vegas last Feb and did very well on just that --hardways and field bets.

So true. THe key is, like you said, it should be a cold table. Try it on a hot table and you will get some strange looks from the rest of the players but also lose a lot of money quickly.

There are truly hot table and cold tables. I play the don't pass line a lot, you have to find a cold table. it is the only game in a casino where you can bet WITH the house, of course playing the don't pass has less of a pay out, but mathematically, that 7 is going to roll more than any other number.

Just curious if there are any die -hard (or fans) of Craps?

I absolutely love the game, though I have only played in a casino a handful of times.

I actually practice shooting dice though and hope to make it to one again soon.
