I agree with you on the last part lucky Loser We CAN control how we feel One mistake people make is think that the lottery owes you money, that thinking messes with your mind and does not let you make better decisions or picking the next numbers.

When Ohio first came out with the Buckeye 5 game (5/37), I was positive I would hit a $100,000 jackpot but never did though I managed to hit quite a few 4 out of 5 matches. I was sort of disappointed when I cashed my first 4 match ticket because the difference between matching one more number was $99,750. But since I'd already had that what if feeling when I matched 5 out of 6 on a $40 million Ohio Lotto jackpot, I wasn't that disappointed.

Very good point, 'Toss, and I definitely agree. If a person can't handle losing then they shouldn't be in this game at all because they will have to lose. Hey, I had to get over it and it took me a long time...especially after taking a huge hit of $500-$600 as I use to play. I figured playing a ton of numbers was the way, and, it worked flawlessly until I'd lose.

I like the consistence but, a hit would put me (2) wins behind the game because I spent $600 to make the $900 netting a $300 profit... [ More ]

You make a good point but if we're talking lotto anyone who gets down because of losing shouldn't be playing lotto.

In all forms of gambling the player is suppossed to lose. In lotto that is on steroids times millions.

X2, Thrust. Positive thinking fortifies a player's drive and persistence. There was a time when I'd get so down on myself for losing but, it was for no good reason at all. I have to lose in order to win...just the nature of the game. We may not be able to control the outcome of the draw but, we CAN control how we feel.

The way to successful positive thinking is to apply it to more than just selfish desires.

You have to be positive all day long about everything, and then some. That kind of attitude allows a person to still feel happy despite any lottery loss, expectation of winning, or anything else. I'm with you Stack4-- Especially on SLP. Even though I dont have that same special feeling as I do for Fantasy, I see it as SOMEBODY HAS TO WIN. It might as well be me. The only people who are definately NOT going to win are the people who didnt buy a ticket. I will never win Mega Millions or pick 3 or pick 4 because I don't play it. But I have just a much chance (not rights) to win a lottery jackpot as anyone else.

At sometime today I'm going to buy 6 PB tickets (with power play of course) and I'll know for a fact each ticket has a chance to hit the jackpot. I also know the odds against any one of those tickets are astronomically high. After the tickets are in my pocket I'll forget about the odds against me and thoughts of how I'll spend the winnings will enter my mind. So just the action of buying the tickets has me thinking positive.

Yes, Victor, I truly in my heart feel that I am going to win a Fantasy Five jackpot. It is a strong feeling that I have had for months. I win enough on the same set so often that I know it will hit.
