If I could afford to spend 500.00 a week on the lottery, then I definitely wouldn't play the lottery so often. I play the lottery so that I can one day maybe have the capability of throwing away 500.00/week on the lottery. Not that I would do that....but it would be nice knowing I could if I wanted to.

I kick myself in the butt knowing I've wasted 20-50 a week sometimes on the lottery. So people that spend way more than that are definitely in a different league than myself.

I couldn't read jokers' mind but I did made a general observation about all lotteries. Lotteries expect their payouts to be a fixed percent of their sales and if they paid out more than that then they probably would want to know why. But maybe someone spending $700+ a week($36000+ yearly) winning $80000 a year consistently wouldn't effect their overall profits enough to be noticed.

Joker has a point. From stories I've read about unusual number of winners like the 110 players who matched 5+0 in PowerBall using numbers from fortune cookies, I believe lotteries do monitor ticket sales and payouts amounts for all area and investigate when payouts go above the statistical probability. I would think if one store or area was selling a high number of winners for the amount of ticket sales, someone from the lottery would have noticed.

When you hit for P3 str., you don't have to show id for 1099G you get paid cash $500 per ticket! When he hits, he randomly drives around to 20 different lottery stores! Went home with $10K cash each time.

That's my strategy as well. It is not easy but very doable with patitence and luck. Just have to get a str8 win to first build up your warchest so can go for bigger payout later. Still waiting for a hit though

Some people believe if they buy three $1 scratch-offs and get a free ticket they won and this might be what this guy is doing. So it's possible he could win $80,000 a year before subtracting how much he wagered.

As for spending $500 a week, I knew a guy that averaged $200 a day but his yearly profits (if there was one) were closer to $2000.

The game pays only half the odds which is 500 bucks with a 1 in 1,000 odds for a straight hit.

I cannot even begin to imagine myself spending $50 on one lottery drawing. Well, I could at one point - back when I planned to play Mega Millions, hitting every Bonus Ball in the process - I would win a guaranteed $2. One of the worst things is when I lose track of my intuition. I swear, yesterday at work, I told a co-worker who plays a lot of numbers daily, to play 329. I hope he played it boxed.

It's just that when I actually do play them, they don't show. I guess consistency is the key.

I had many more hits when MO. was still a ball drop. I do think RNG's are biased.

Not to get off the subject of this post but here is what I think. For every drawing the lottery

has thousands of people pick numbers and play them. The ticket generator then sends this

information back to the main database at the lottery. Every set of numbers they receive can

be used in many ways. I like to say that for every set they draw they get many sets back.

I played Fantasy Five boxed, and it only hit for 25 bucks. I tried playing the 5 numbers staright and that only paid 73 bucks, unless you play them boxed.

For example, If i played the following numbers straight.......5-17-20-27-34, the payoff is aound 75 bucks, but If I played those same numbers boxed, it would pay about 25 to 40 bucks. And If a triple comes in, then forget it...it's not even worth it.
