I've been reading everyone's posts about ticket number 022 not being a winner. Well this morning I purchased two Red Hot Millions and didn't even look to see what ticket numbers they were. On ticket number 021 I won $50 and on ticket number 022 I won...$15! I know its not much, but I was excited. As I was scratching, I looked down to see what ticket number it was and when I saw 022 I thought I'm gonna lose on this one.

I have to agree with you on this,I bought a classic black,it had a thick white line as well..I won $50.00,I have noticed it with other tickets as well,I also have noticed that if you scratch a ticket mainly the ten or twenty tickets,if you find a number 22 , it's not going to be a winner...Just an observation

Anyone think certain stores seem luckier than others? I do. I've gotten 3 $100 tickets from Wegmans, but I usually strike out or don't do well (like today I spent $80.00, mostly from prior winnings, and got NOTHING back.) Giant is usually better. The only reason I played lotto at Wegmans is because I was shopping there for groceries.

I actually tried the back-to-back winner strategy. Since #018 on the $20 Million Dollar Cash Fever was a $200 winner, I bought another from the same roll and it happened to be the next ticket, #019. Not another big winner, but it did win $20.

I, along with other players, have been studying the scratch-off deal in terms of odds and winners. It seems that the odds are actually much better with these games especially with the top payouts. Problem is that the good paying tickets cost $10 and up which can add up if you don't get a reasonable winner after purchasing several tickets or so. Still, the idea of hitting big is a high possibility if you manage to get a good string of tickets.

If your playing the odds, I would say buy from another roll and try to hit one of the bigger prizes. I've won $100 on a $2 scratch off and thought the same thing as you... I ended up running back to the store and was fortunate enough to hit $100 again from one of the five tickets I bought.

Trust your gut feeling, if your feelin lucky.. buyout the remaining tickets .. if not.. buy a few from a new roll.

Hey guys,

I love the line strategy but I wanted to change tune a bit.

I just purchased a $10.00 Redskins Legacy Ticket tonight here in VA and I hit for $100! Very nice hit as it is my biggest win beating my record of $75 from a month ago on a $3.00 bingo ticket. Anyway, the ticket number was 007. The tickets come out of the machine backwards down to 000. This is where my questions comes into play.

the mark works and the white line between the tickets ! trust me it works if you have the clerk to pull tickets out of the roll not tear them off just pull say 10 out look for a solid white line if its 6 or 7 down dont waste your money if you wanna chase if you see in the first 2 then go for it thats always a green light for me to play

if its way down the roll ive been down that road and they are all losers or you might get 5 bucks maybe if its a 5 dollar ticket

it so simple the white lines are between the tickets is so obvious to see them if your ticket in your state is black like the aerosmith game in ohio or cash invasion the white line is thick and it usually hits on that ticket or the one connected to its so common in ohio that clerk knows if you ask any white lines coming up they look for you like for instance it could be 6 tickets down do you want to risk that much money to chase or would you rather have a ticket ready to hit right then and there... Matt - I dont think anyone was saying only the tickets with markings are winners =)

It was just an observation that more than one person has made. I have bought several with the markings and haven't won anything as stated above. It just all depends. It's just interesting that there are actual marks on some and makes you wonder what they are for.

thats very interesting i play some scratchers in ohio and it seems on most of the

5 dollar 2 dollar tickets they either have a thick white line between the winner tickets like the aerosmith ticket is plain as day always hits either on the white line or 1 or 2 tickets away and its usally for 10 and above. also on the monopoly game in ohio look for the yellow line inbetween the tickets a huge greenlight to play it almost always hits right on the line or right after and the 2 dollar cash invasio... Nino, yes it is public info, but you have to request it. If you click on the Contact us link on the FL Lottery website and ask them for a top prize winners list, they will email it to you.

I have done this before on a few scratchers just to see where the top prize winners were coming from. That is one of the strategies I use when playing different scratch-offs.

I know exactly what marking he is referring to, as I thought the same exact thing. It is at the very bottom left or right of some tickets. Most games have these markings every 4-5 tickes or so. You just have to look for them.

i addition, I have purchased the tickets before and after the one with a marking and havent won on any of them. But I have heard others talking about these markings as well, so this isnt the first person ive heard this from.

There's actually some possible fundamental reasons for what you are observing. The distribution of the larger prizes could be because most of the packs only contain smaller prizes and hence are mass printed on sheets. How in the world are you supposed to look for the _ at the back of the ticket? Maybe you have x-ray and telescopic vision, but for us mere mortals it's impossible to see the back of any scratch-off ticket before purchase and even if we could, the tickets are too far away to notice that line.

Hey GM1258....I've only been able to find the list of PA winners on the PA lottery website.

Do you know if there is published list of the RETAILERS where the winning games were distributed? Or are you just going by the town names of the winners from the PDF winners list for your traffic pattern distribution mapping

Alright Matt! That's darn good. I've never won $100 back to back. I' have won $10 then $100 back to back though. I always hear about the $10 games having back to back winners. I don't play $2 game very often cause I never win much, but I do play birthday cash and my winners always seem to be in the 40's.

In PA, Big Winner Spectacular seems to be a good game! Won $100 twice today from the same roll, ticket #8 and #9. Would people advise to playing the roll with the two big winners, or change to a different roll?

Have had terrible luck on BlackJack and Birthday Cash lately, so I'll keep going with the BWS game for now.

just yesterday i went in to my favorite lotto dealer and bought tickets 22 to 00 of treasure grove$2 in fl. ticket 22 was a 2 dollar #11 was 2 #06 was 15 and #00 was 2 so i ended up losing about 20 bux going on a strategy that i thought would work thinking the lower ten had better chances. has anyone had luck with this strategy in fla.

I almost always play the $2 and $5 games. BlackJack, Goldrush Gush, $10K/Month for life, Fantastic 5s, the Crossword games, and Birthday Cash are favorites.

There's one thing I'll sometimes do: I think the rules say you can't have more losers in a row than 2.5x the game's odds. So when I can afford it, I'll buy 13 tickets. I don't do this often.

Great tip, thanks! I'm gonna look into those patterns here in the FLA.

I don't know what it's like in PA, but here you don't get to look over a ticket before you buy it. You can either get them from a vending machine that spits 'em out or an annoyed clerk who's usually in a rush. You don't really get a chance to ask for the last one on the roll or the one with the special marks on the bottom.

Millionaire Monopoly $20 ticket..........#28 ($0), #29 ($0). The retailer had post's of previous winners........all in the 20's.......nothing past #25 no #22 winners either

I'm new. Thanks for the tips, because I play a lot and have never won more than $50. I've won $40 and $50 a few times. I agree that the end of the roll seems to be lucky, particularly #148 on the $2 games. I don't remember winning on the last ticket, #149. On BlackJack, my $40 and $50 winners have come in the #110-#130 range. #131 won $50 just a couple days ago. I think he means where the tickets are perforated between the tickets I think you can also find it on the back bottom of the ticket also. Sometimes it is a black line and other times it is in color, like Ohio had a $5 Sapphire 7 green ticket and the lines were green. After talking to people it seems the lines are spaced evenly throughout the book, the line looks like L sometimes or sometimes __ it is in the very corner of tickets at bottom. color codes.

I thought he meant on the front of the ticket, near the bottom? Maybe I read it wrong.

I hope he can come back soon and explain just where we can look for these markings.

yes....000 is supposed to be the beginning but I've seen some retailers start with the end of the roll 1st. On the last ticket there will be a small black box next to the number that endicate the end of the roll.

With regard to a mapping strategy, I do have a PA map on my bulletin board that

I use to keep track of all jackpot winners during the life of a particular game.

My favorite scratcher games are the Cash For Life games.

I track those, and a couple of other favorites, on my map board.

I use different color pins for each game sticking the pin on the winners

home town or winning vendor.

When a game ends I magic mark the winning spots and start a new map.

Great couple of tips!

I've been looking at the winner list here in PA as well....a LOT of data to comb through.

When I was pulling this data last year, I standardized all of the PDF files PA posted, scraped it out and put it into a Database.

In order to make that winners list, the person must have won over $1000 in a single game.

Once I got all of that data organized (which wasn't easy- either the person who creates the reports is totally incompetent OR they intentionally screw... [ More ]

Anyway, I thought I'd share a scratcher ticket theory thats worked well for me here in PA.

Go to the winners circle link on your state lottery website.

Click on Instant Game Winners.

Therein you will see an actual list of the winners, their home town, and sometimes the name

of the store that sold the winning tickets.

After going over the list you may determine a distribution pattern for certain games in certain areas.
