I like picking my own but I buy one or two qp's in hopes I will get a double...if so I always play the other side of it...have won doing that a few times.

I play my own picks, using my system. I just don't trust the machine, cause I think when ever alot of people are playing the same number. I think the lottery machine some how knows it (cause you have to run your play slip thur the machine) and it changes the number to kept from paying out so much money. I think the machine only give out so many winning numbers. Maybe If I played the QP I'll get one, and maybe not. But I don't trust it, so I prefer to pick my own. I win more often like that.... Quick picks are ok, but I prefer picking my own numbers. Thats not to say that I don't get quick picks from time to time.

IMHO, it's a 'circular argument' having no end.

Any conclusion reached today will be disputed tomorrow.

Anyway, I NEVER play state generated numbers.

If I win or lose, I can't blame anyone but myself.

Besides, picking your own numbers can be lot of fun. It is definitely more entertaining than some of the

current movies and TV shows.

Over the years, I have found that there are combos patterns in all pick 5 jackpot games. Each game has it's own Sweet Lotto Numbers which are basically combos patterns. If you know what these numbers are, you can improve your odds in winning. I know I have that is why I pick my own numbers.

I used to prefer my own and still have a few sets of numbers I still play, but started going with the percentages.

In the long run, no matter how I choose the numbers for whatever game I'm playing I get whatever doesn't pay ayrhing. That is 0 or 1 on Pick 5 and 0, 1, or 2 on Pick 6, and 0 or 1 on 5 + 1.

But I just thought it odd that even this poll was coming out almost 80 / 20.

I really expected a bell curve somewhere around 63% to 73% - so all I can say is that even I did not make a correct estimate. Of course 128 votes out of thousands of members is not definitive.

The vote is which do you prefer. You might play both, I have. But which is your preference. I have not had good luck with QPs, so I prefer to choose my own.

Is anyone here familair with the 80 / 20 Rule ?

Ther's a thing called the 80 / 20 rule that goes something like this:

In any apartment complex with a pool 20% of the residents use the pool 80% of the time.

In any sales force, 20% of the sales people bring in 80% of the sales.

And you could probably say that on discussion boards 20% of the members put up 80$ of the posts.

In one play, I'll usually pick 2 or 3 numbers that I'm feeling pretty strongly about,

.....and let the coputer terminal pick the rest.

Anyway, ....Both for me, in a way.

I prefer quick picks but only if the lines are not on one ticket because there are too many repeat numbers, I always purchase separate quick pick tickets for each line which usually gives me numbers for the same drawing that don't repeat themselves on every line. I don't like the lottery promotions that force a player to get $5.00 worth of lines on one ticket, in order to get a $3.00 free quick pick, like the Sweet Million promotion in NY going on right now for the entire month of August. Yes, perfect.

I can understand some play QPs and PPs but I was hoping that most would have a preference, enough to vote one way or the other.

As it is turning out, some people are borderline and either discarded their vote or did not vote.

For P-3 4, I pick my own. Used to pick my own P-5 but find it more convenient to get QP's. I win as often with QP's as I did with my own picks. I voted for player picks because it asked which one we 'prefer'.

Years ago, before I really learned how this deal worked, I'd go out and get QP's just because I thought numbers are numbers . I've won twice in my lifetime using QP's and it wasn't for very much either. One win was on the Texas Lottery and the other was on Cash 5. I've never won anything using QP's for Pick 3 or Pick 4. Once I quit playing and began to study while compiling R D, I saw what I needed to do to win more often...and it worked at a cost.

Right after I retired, MegaMillions and PowerBall weren't available in Ohio so when ever their jackpots were more than $100M I drove to Michigan to get some BigGame tickets and to Indiana to get some PB tickets. On several occasions, my former co-workers gave me $300-$500 to pick up QP tickets for their lottery pools. Actually I do like picking my own numbers, but having tracked the game I play most, a Pick 5, and seeing the results night after night, I play QPs much more often.

Right now the vote is 41-10 in favor of PP, but that's really no surprise when there's a systems forum and a section devoted to predictions, and mention of bragging rights , is it

I LIKE TO PLAY QUICK PICK, I DON'T WANT THE SAME THING THAT HAPPENED TO THAT HAPPENED TO MY COUSIN. if i have a system i ll choose my own numbers, if i dont i use quick pick and if for some reason i dont have a system and dont use quick pick and pick my own numbers it will be some kind of, morse code, may day code, some kind of numeric code even though i dont know morse code, if i knew how encryption works, i will had used it/that...
