I buy my tickets in a state that allows anonymity so I wouldn't need a trust or anything like that. I have no need for a financial advisor as I've learned that they are just salespeople and I've already built up nice little nest egg by making my own investment decisions. I've also been audited by the IRS twice and my tax attorney has proven himself invaluable.

I consider any money in government hands to be at extreme risk.

I would get the money away from them as quickly and stealthily as possible, lock it up and then work on the particulars before touching it.

while taking time to put together a financial team seems like a good idea, taking too much time can cost you. i mean think of all the interest you are loosing by waiting 6months (as some have). if you win 100 million, hell you loose the 2-3 mil interest you would have made in that six months.
