snip , VA has some crazy winning combos. FL is a bit easier....All even amount winning combos

$1, $2, $3, $6, $9, $10, $20, $25, $30, $40, $50, $100, $150, $200, $500, $1000, $5000, etc etc

The Virginia Lottery personally sent me those codes, so I know they are current.

The right column that you copied to the forum is used on my site for the search feature. If someone searches for OEN instead of ONE , then you will still get results.

I wish I could still find the one that had the games on the back, but I think the game is over. It wasn't but 3-4 months ago that I saw this. I am fairly sure I got it from one of the instant game vending machines located in the mall here in VA.

Maybe I'll go searching later this week to see if its still around, tricking people.

Most are easy to determine whether they are winners or not. But it certainly does not hurt to scratch the whole play area lesonook, I agree.

I'm can't help believe there might have been a mini-$urplu$ for PA with the inception of the *improved* letter method or the disguised play areas.

Placing a play area on the back might have also created a mini-surplus for OH/VA.

I've also seen a scratch off ticket (was either in OH or VA) that had an extra scratch area on the back of the ticket. It was some kind of casino-themed ticket. The only way I discovered it was, after my wife had scratched and thought she lost- I wanted to look at the odds on the back. That's when I noticed the extra area, and it was a $5 winner.

Sure does make one wonder. In PA the Q, P, Z, B, K, J are losers....some people scratch off enough to reveal a letter - if a loser, they toss it w/o

playing the game at all. I felt bad for the people that didn't know this when PA changed the method of identifying winners. Used to be parenthesis

were used with the winning dollar amount inside them. When they changed to letter codes, some people were still using the long line of numbers

Hey everyone. New to these forums, but not to the lotto.

I am currently living in Arlington, VA- and buy lotto tickets often. I have noticed a common trend among losers in VA- every loser I have ever bought had the code BZP, or BDP.

Can anyone confirm another code for a loser in VA? This could help identify those $600+ winners and an actual loser (I don't play by the letters, but if someone does it could help them

Yes, it looks like PA plays it straight and doesn't confuse people. Gas station owner told me today that CLM is on all tickets over 1k.

Never Never Never go by just the validation codes. Unless you want to risk throwing away a top prize. After $500 I believe the validation codes are all random.

I've had a top prize that had the validation code: NEW

Ive heard of people playing by just the validation codes and tossing them out if they dont spell out a generic amount, but that is a big mistake

Actually, I've had the opposite happen - I've scratched off a ticket in VA which was a loser - no matches anywhere, no special symbols, etc. But the code said TWY ($20) or TWF ($25), so I took it to the cashier and she said it was a winner. Now my father on the other hand, he had a $5 winner in VA - it had the matching numbers the FIV ($5) code, the cashier scanned it, handed it back to us, and said it wasn't a winner. Now Im rather freaked. Ive thrown away at least 15 tickets I assumed were losers from the codes in PA. And also VA.

Now Im wondering if teh VA tickets were winners (I spent several hundred dollars and only got 1 winner out of 20 plus)

I also throw them away at the store at times. Machines aren't 100% foolproof, but I'd say the chance of a ticket with the losing code being a winner is VERY small. I wouldn't worry.

I buy a lot of scratch offs in Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Apparently, MD has no ryhme nor reason to letters that appear when you scratch off certain areas of the tickets.

But in Pennsylvania I was told losing code letters by a gas station manager.

He told me that Q , B , D , P , K , Z are ALWAYS losing tickets.

I hope he is right because at this point I dont scratch further when I see those letters. I wonder if the letters are 100% foolproof though.
