just put your name on the back and claim it, at least you get all that you are due. no hoping the person you got to claim it doesnt run off with the cash

i read you get to keep 1st $500, then they take half the left over towards your debt, so at wrst you get $750.

but as others said call em up and ask

When u enter the lottery claims office they have a sign up. If u owe any back money to the state they will take the money out, and give u what's left.

In Missouri, when you sign the back of the ticket, they run your name, if you owe anyone, state taxes, federal taxes, child support, court cost, for tickets, etc. bill collector's. It's a given, your $1,000.00 will go toward that bill, and if you have any change left, they will write you a check for that amount.

And, Missouri charges 25% on any winnings over $1,000.00 for Federal taxes, but, you can pay that now, or later. State is taken out off the top, the State runs the lotte... [ More ]

If I recall correctly the quick claim form asks if you owe child support or back taxes. The best advice is when you fill out the form, answer the questions truthfully because it is a legal document and could be used against in the future. If there are no questions of unemployment overpayment, they will probably hand you the $1000.

You can call them and ask or do what tiggs would do live on the edge and go cash it..You have to cash it anyway so just do that...Bet you just have to pay taxes but that's just a guess..

I won 1000 dollars on a scratch off ticket and owe the state of ohio money for unemployment overpayments. I have to claim the winnings and wonder if they will take the money. I don't owe child support.
