Lottery people have lot of statistics and if they were really thinking it is possible for them to design lottery in such a way so there will be more than 1 or 2 big winners but instead each winner can win 1-2 million. What is given is 50% of the sales should go to lottery and they can do whatever they want with 50% of sales such as giving it to educational purposes. rest 50% of sales should create more millionairs.

I believe the New York lottery offers PB and MM so for $2 anybody can win a $1 million by matching 5 numbers. They have 14 chances a week to win $1 million by betting $200 on one pick-4 number. If there goal is to win a million on one wager, there are certainly many ways to do it.

I live in Ohio so I don't keep up with the games in New York. You are on the Internet and from NY and the New York lottery has a website with information about all its games so you can check it out if you're really want to know.

The only way this would probably work is by creating some sort of raffle tickets like many states already have. Considering most of the games are ball/computer driven there usually isnt that many winners and thats why it is usually won by a single person or a couple people.

The lottery commision cant control how many people win. It would be nice, but if only 1 or 2 people hit the exact #s what are they supposed to do? They cant split it to the 2nd place winners....

was in england christmas visting parents 25th december they had a lottery on your ticket on bottom was a serial no they made that evening 25 serial no tickets each one matching won 1 million pounds making 25 millionaires thought that was a good idea

That's true. The rich need the not rich to run the machines and do the paper work. Just like centuries ago the kings and queens needed the serfs to do the work. There will always be rich and always be poor, the poor workers will just use higher technologies to serve their masters.

What smaller games are available in NY which will pay few millions? I'm aware of sweet million which gives 1 million as 1st price and $250,000 as 2nd price.

The odds of PowerBall and Mega Millions are huge and that's what makes the jackpots grow and because of the odds, it's unlikely there will be more than 3 winners on one drawing. For the same dollar bet one lucky player can win multi-millions compared to winning $500 playing pick-3.

Many states held raffles over the holidays and several players became millionaires. That's probably as close as you'll get to what you're suggesting.

PowerBall and MegaMillions aren't the only jackpot games. Most states have a 6/47-49 jackpot game that start out at $1.0M and are usually won before they reach $8.0M, problem is they don't attract a lot of players so most states add games like MM and PB to attract more players. Games with better odds and smaller jackpots are already available for those those players who prefer them.

In jackpot lotteries, the 1st prize gets anywhere from 15 million to 300 million. Instead of one mega millionaire, why don't they have say many more millionaire who would win 2-3 millions? Is there a way we can lobby for this so they come up with a lottery that is tailored toward making handful of people millionaire. For most people, 2-3 million is all they need. You can wisely invest that kind of money and live rest of your life without financial worries.
