This is interesting no matter what year you were born the number is 111.

Take the last 2 digits of the year you were born and add them to the age you will be this year. The sum will equal 111

This year we will experience 4 unusual dates 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11 and 11/11/11...

Well I thought maybe along with the 111 you could take your bith year, let's say someone was born in 1965, that's 65, and will be 46 this year, so they'd have 6546 as a Pick 4.

Only other solution as to why it works... just basic math doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. It makes you think because of all the ones but it will work with any year.

Only if we can make it work with these numbers now.

I tested it and it is true. Nice observation !

However, you still have to explain why it works that way. I know it's some mathematical oddity, but still interesting to hear an explanation nonetheless.

Cool --- and for a minute had me puzzled. It works for any year - the last two numbers will always be the two number of the year and the first number will be a 1.
