Wild,

I went to the Art Supplies section and found some super carbon black pencils, they work great without having to push down too

hard on the paper, in addition to that, because I don't have to push to hard to get a good mark, If I make a mistake it is very easy to erase.

If I angle the pencil, as if sketching something, I get a much broader stroke and can whip through playslips in no time.

Tennessee playslips are so thin you can fill out a hundred of them at a time by doing the top one with a marker.

They're so thin you could probably use them for toilet paper.

And your odds of winning the lottery would probably remain the same if you did.

Their are many different types of Writing Implements on the market today: One of the newer types is the Gel Pen: Available in Fine Point, Medium Point, and Bold Point.

The Bold Point Gel Pen seems to work well for Filling Out Bet Slips.

I use both, pen and pencil. Never tried a sharpie even though I've got plenty of them.

it should if you use a black sharpie. I know the machine won't read a red sharpie.

I've filled out hundreds of play slips with a black sharpie and never had one rejected.

I also know the ink will bleed through the play slip so don't put another play slip under the one your filling out.

Gee sully, the other day shen you visited your friend in the Institute right aftet you left they took out a box with a bunch of playslips and a calligraphy set! The playslips started to look like old Vegas Keno tickets when they used pens with nibs!

I use my lucky black ballpoint from the $1 store ... Also I have a FL Lottery pen that I got from the district office

Luckily in FL they have the plastic lottery sleeves so I can keep all of my cards safe and not smudged up.

Anytime I see those sleeves I grab a couple so I have extras. They usually only come out with them once a year.

every time i try to use a sharpie or other felt tip marker the machine wont scan them.

ok, well, it was just one cashier (who doesnt work there anymore I dont think) but still... so frustrating to have to fill out a new one!

none of the other cashiers ever seemed to have a problem. so maybe ill start doing it again and see if itll work now for them...sigh...

I have a real method for this.

I always use a blunted (meaning no sharp point) #2 pencil.

This is the type of pencil you would normally try to write with (but feel that it really needs sharpening)

It works great for lottery tickets. Covers the selection area just right.

Hope I explained that OK.

Using a pencil...gives you an opportunity to make a correction if you mark wrong numbers. I use a good eraser and can usually get away without re-doing the card. Main reason I never use a

depends on the pen. depends on the pencil. In general pencils are better but felt tip pens are awesome that work beutifully for this

Thank you for your answers. I am going out in search of the perfect pen. (I'm a nurse so I probably have more pens that an office supply store, back from the days when the drug reps were allowed to pass them out. I should probably sell them on an online auction site, lol.

I had a lotto pen that wasn't electronic. It had a transparent cylinder at the top that you shook and then 5 white numbered balls went into one tube and a red numbered ball went into antoehr.

Someone left it too close to a candles one day and it melted the top portion of it.

I'd like to find another one of them but never have.

If you don't mind my asking, what type of pen do you use to fill out your playslips? I heard that felt tips were best, bought one, and it was all over the place. Since I rarely use quick picks and sometimes filling out playslips can be tedious, I was wondering what type of pens or pencils everyone else uses. (I certainly don't like those itty bitty pencils they provide at the gas station, lol.
