I was $100 on a number 000 ticket..and ive won a few other times on that number..it was a $5 ticket..ive won quite a few times in the number 50's on 5 dollar tickets too. I havent had much luck with low numbers on 2 or 3 dollar tickets though

i think it is all just random either way. I have bought plenty of 000 and 059 or 014 or whatever the last number happens to be and they still turn out to be losers.

James1 may be correct...i havent seen that many jackpot winning tickets. Plus like someone else said it may depend on the state as far as lotteries putting major jackpots at the first or last of a roll.

I just think this would be too obvious and if it happened all the time then most people would just go for those.

In PA, it really depends on the game. Mega Multiplier, Money Money Money, and Winner Take All have done lousy at the end of the roll. Or maybe Mega Multiplier just isn't a very good game.

In the store I buy at, someone won top prize (right after me!) near the end of the roll, but the store packs them backwards, so I guess it was really the beginning. It was #12 (They are numbered 000-299

yeah, good point

it's cool that the clerk shows you those things though, most retailers around my area in NY don't provide any info like that and if they tell you to pick a certain roll it's just for business..

Clerk: Yeah, this ticket good, someone come in bought 10 and no winners. Of course he tells me to buy the $20 ticket

Me: Okay cool..... (Buys 5, $20 win for life tickets and win nothing and run out of cash)

The dude probably bought the next one and hit $500 or something... [ More ]

Today I saw the last ticket on the roll # 059 for Green Hornet win $500. This happened 10 minutes before I came in. Clerk showed it to me.

it's probably different by state....I'm from NY and on the $2-$30 tickets end of the roll is generally a good bet

of course there will always be exceptions; I've seen jackpot/lower tier prizes win in the middle of the roll

I've also bought the last 5 tickets on $20 win for life spectacular and won only two free tickets....like I said before it's generally a safe bet to buy tickets at the end of the roll but it won't always work. I'd also try the higher priced tickets as they have less tick... [ More ]

So I found the last 2 tickets tonight on treasure hunter$3 game and 98 was $3, 99 was a loser. That makes 3 for 3 very last tickets being losers. Is it different for$2, $3 and $5 games maybe? Haven't gotten any $10 or $20 last tickets.

I always look for end of the roll especially, I'll even buy old tickets that have 1 top prize left if I see the # is close to the end.

My biggest win was #46 out of 50 on a $20 Win for Life spectacular ticket, where I got a star (10x) and $25.00, and I've had other $100 winners on the end/beginning of the roll as well.

Dont know why but the lottery has its ways of placing jackpot tickets as the very first or very last ticket.

Yes, unless I have had bad luck at the beginning or end of a game, I'll buy more than one there. I absolutely won't buy more than one of Money Money Money at the end. But I'd buy at least a couple at the beginning. Big Winner Spectacular has been bad from #117-119, so when I got #116 lately, I stopped there. It worked as #116 won $50. New games I'll always buy more at the beginning or end.

I wanted to add that I've seen the 1st 5 tickets on 'black pearls be losers and the last ticket on 2 other games (also losers). Last night I realized I had 058 ($10 game and won $15).. and was urged to go back to get last ticket (but refrained).

I'm new to scratcher world and appreciate this forum (learned much in a week of lurking). Question: Without being a store clerk or close to one, I imagine it's rare to get the 1st or last ticket of a roll. If you notice your ticket purchase is near the end.. (and not a big winner) do you generally buy more to check out the end or last ticket
