The odds of hitting a straight on pick 4 are 1:10,000 which means only one player in 10,000 will do that. What have you ever done that make you think that one player should be you? Just buying a ticket isn't good enough to separate you from the 9,999 players who are destined to lose unless you're very lucky. Just being lucky might score you a box hit.

There are lots of KY Pick-4 drawings when no players cash even a 50 cent straight ticket. There are lots of Midday and some Evening drawings when the payout less than $10,000. Does that prove the game is rigged or does it prove there are not many Pick-4 players in KY?

Found a Classic Lotto ticket I bought in October in an old purse - it turned out to be a $70 winner.

Won back $100 in the New Year's Raffle.

And, perhaps most importantly, my alma mater (Michigan State) beat Georgia in an exciting 3OT bowl game.

So if 25 bonus numbers were used, the total cost of the tickets is probably around $10 million. A more realistic way to play the 36 numbers would be to use a 3 if 5 wheel with 214 combos or a more practical 2 if 5 wheel with about 25 combos.

I don't think they will. Only 20k tickets or so have been sold since I purchased my last ticket. (Someone recently posted another ticket number.)

However, as you said, the odds of winning prizes will be better if they don't sell all the tickets. I'd like to win the million, of course, but realistically I'd be content with any of the prizes. Even if it was only getting back the $100 I spent.

The Ohio Lottery has traditionally paid off the advertised prizes when they didn't sell all the tickets. They are well over the break even point of 250,000 so there is no reason to believe they won't this year. Your chances of winning a $ 1 million will be better than 125,000 to 1 if they don't sell all the tickets.
