Well its possible. I have met people who play $1,000 per day ( after they hit like $500,000 ). And there was an article here about a lady who spent as much as $6,000 per day on scratch offs she was down to the tune of $2.3 Million after 2 years. She stole money to feed her habit.

A $5K win would put me ahead lifetime. I would need even less then that actually thanks to my recent winning streak. I never spend more then $5 on Powerball and always research scratchers to see how many prizes are remaining and where they have hit. This was something I did not do for the first 3 months of the year and its what put me down in the first place.

wow i see you won alot james in 2011 how much have you lost so far?Im probably down 12 grand since january in scratcoffs and the lotto.I see the prizes that are left and atleast i aim for second prize on the scratchers and i cant even get a 500 dollar win which sucks.well 2011 will be my last year gambling because im going all in about 1500 dollars a week until december comes so wish me luck guys

I've also set a deadline. If no $500+ win by the end of the year, next year I will play once or twice a month, and no more per outing than I've been playing. I'm behind and don't want to continue so many losses forever.

Im different. I can be very pissed off one night and the next day forget about and go in the store and buy another $100 worth of tickets. I guess its fueled by not having hit a decent prize yet. Im sure if I get one I would slow down drastically.

Yes, scratchers can be a black hole, sucking the money and life out of you if you let it.

I actually stopped playing scratchers several weeks ago, just because I hit a self-imposed limit on them. I've only been playing draw games since, and to tell you the truth, I don't miss scratchers at all! I go to the store about every day or so and grab about $20 in draw/jackpot games instead and the little scratch tickets in the display case don't entice me one bit. I am giving myself 2 more weeks and then im done for good with scratch offs. This has been one of the worst experience of my life losing all this money.

i always dreamed of coming out of a store with a roll! but reading many.many posts I see that at least in Ohio you get back 40-60%, and not even break even unless there is a big winner amongst the roll.

lol, sound identical to my goal man....for my birthday in April i'm gonna spend $1000 on different scratch-offs from the ny metro/some local retailers and hope for the best.

This will be my last month where I go full out on the lottery. After this month I will result back to casual playing.

I have a birthday in March so this is what I have planned

A roll of $20 tickets plus a roll of $3 tickets

A scratch off road trip when I will be going to Miami I will stop at many different stores and grab some scratchers from everyone. $500 limit
