I beleive the real term for this SUM ROOT is called DIGITAL ROOT.

The tracking of SLD points you in the direction of the Sums to look at:

Example: If SLD4 is Due then you would look at Sums 04 14 24

Pick 3 SLD to Sum Cross-Reference:

SLD0=Sum 00 10 20

SLD1=Sum 01 11 21

SLD2=Sum 02 12 22

SLD3=Sum 03 13 23

SLD4=Sum 04 14 24

SLD5=Sum 05 15 25

SLD6=Sum 06 16 26

SLD7=Sum 07 17 27

SLD8=Sum 08 18

SLD9=Sum 09 19

Key: SLD=Sum Last Digit

Short Sum is also called Base Root.

Let's start from scratch:

You have SUM. To get SUM, you total the digits, 2 + 8 + 9. = 19. ---- 19 is our SUM.

To get the SUM ROOT, you total the digits, 2 + 8+ 9 = 19. Then total 1 + 9 = 10. And total 1 + 0 = 1. This is our SUM ROOT.

SHORT SUM, you total the digits, 2 + 8 + 9 = 19. Nothing more to add. You simply strip off the last digit. So 9 is your Short Sum.

It was me.

It has to do with wimmins and cash.

When it comes to cash, if you find yourself short sum, you'll most likely be lone sum.

Least ways that's what I think.

Unfortunately short sum is one of those terms people make up to give others the impression that they know something worth knowing. You'll have to ask the person who came up with the term what he meant.
