Nationwide doesnt necesarily demand that ALL 50 states participate.

I still said no, for the obvious reasons- More participants, less chance. ANy time New York or Florida get involved, They get the winners and I am left as a whiner. Why feed them when I can feed myself with winning just my state lottery .

I already particpate in the Powerrball and Mega so they already are contributions to the Nationwide trend.

I voted NO.

Better odds playing the lotteries.

IMHO, The chance of a Nationwide raffle is slim to none, with emphasis on the none.

It would take an act of Congress, and we know how that works. Unless each and every politician

can find a way to get a piece of the action, there will be no vote.

Besides, the individual states would oppose it.

The Texas Lottery tried to get on that gravy train last year, but, the Attorney General said no way, Jose.

If a raffle was nationwide, it would lose its appear to me because of the reason I play. There is not a lot of competition and there are lots of winners only in one state. The odds of winning are better. Nationwide wouldn't be any different than a huge jackpot game to me.

Oh, I'm all for nationwide lotteries too but I also like the raffles and would like to see a nationwide raffle.

I think that would be a cool name too - Nationwide.

In fact I even know what they could use for a theme song:

I never cared for raffles, lotteries are the types of games I like and since PowerBall and MegaMillions can be played in almost ever state, I consider them nationwide lotteries.

Much as I'd like to win a billion, ten million will be more then enough, thank you very much. I'd buy a ticket maybe, but most of my play would be in a game of fair odds where I can make my own luck picking numbers.

Instead of a national lottery or raffle I'd prefer the right to play ANY game nationally online for the same price as the locals pay. That's freedom.

That would be a sweepstakes and not a raffle. People buy raffle tickets and enter sweep[stakes. PCH, Reader's Digest run sweepstakes, No purchase necessary contests.

Yeah, I know, apples and oranges . Maybe on the one hand but on the other, it's still 499,491 losers and 509 winners. Varies state by state by the m.o. is the same.

This one might be easier because the national raffle should have more than 20 chances to win more than a $1 million. Someone should ask Jade or Joker if better to have one chance to catch a fish in a pond with 20 fish or have 20 chances to fish in a pond with one fish.

Even is the raffle prize was multi-millioins the buy-in is way beyond a 5 + 1 game buy in.

Still doubtful. Any entity that books action, whether it's a street corner bookie, a Manhattan sports advisor (try $50,000 a game, three game minimum bet), or a Federal Lottery Commission, does it as a for profit business, not a gift shop.

MM sold over 100 million tickets in just one drawing so it's reasonable to believe a national raffle would sell at least that much with 5 or 6 weeks to buy tickets. Some states have done well selling $20 tickets while others struggled with $10 tickets. Either way, the majority of the tickets will be sold in the more populated states and people will complain when the majority of winners are in those states.

Lottery, with a decent matrix, yes. Raffle, the way they are presently set up, no way.

Using Illinois as an example, which is prretty common, 500,000 tickets are sold and there are 509 winners. Of those 509, four win $1,000,000.

So looking at it another way, you spend your $20 for the privilege of most likely being one of the 499,491 losers. And even if you win the $1,000,000, each dollar played has won $50,000 compared to one lottery dollar winning millions.
