Just wanted to follow-up on this thread:

Today I implemented what should be the last major performance bump for a while. There are certainly things here and there that can be tweaked , but after today's update things are really flying compared to the way it was just prior to implementing this series of improvements.

You can see a description of some recent changes on the Change Log.

Great job as always Todd! The pages load so fast it makes a person wonder why other sites don't work as well and even some of those are owned and run by big corporations!

Keep up the good work Todd we all here on the LP sure do appreciate all the hard work you do to keep this site the #1 Lottery site on the net

Definite improvement! Especially in the IE browsers, Mozilla 4 was pretty good, as well as Chrome. Although I think the Mozilla 4.0 is buggy. I have had a complaint or two on the Mozilla.

I'm really glad to hear that you all are seeing some real performance increases. I know what I see in MY test computers, but I can only tell for sure when I hear feedback directly from everyone in their own houses and businesses.

I just did another tweak, and I may have to do another one in the next day or so. It's very normal, based on the number of changes I had to make.

I concur with everybody else the pages are loading alot faster. Great job!!!. Being a software architect one of the first principles I was taught 25 years ago when choosing algorithms is that you typically had to make a tradeoff between performance or size of your running program. It seems like in todays worlds of sandbox programming that software programmers don't optimize for either anymore. Instead of smaller or faster its bloated and slower. Actually, I was posting predictions earlier this evening and thought the prediction page loaded a bit quicker than usual. This was before I learned of the changes. Also, I notice when typing this post that the text has less lag than it did before.

I've noticed a slitghtly faster loading time, though the real test will be when there's more people on the internet in my house.

(For those commenting on that particular page, the load time is longer because it loads so much data, not much I can do about that.

Maneuverability around the site seems definitely quicker than normal..loading the see yesterdays winners takes the same amount of time as usual.

This afternoon I installed the latest updates to the Lottery Post Web site, which were mainly focused on improvement of page load times.

To say it is a major overhaul is almost an understatement, but if I have done my job well, the only thing someone would notice is that pages finish loading faster.

It is possible that there are a few bugs out there, because it is very difficult to test wide-sweeping changes like this. If you did see a bug, it would probably be a missing graphic, or a stra... [ More ]
