Sounds good, however it is interesting that a fraction of lotterypost users joined the page on Facebook.

Does it mean that lottery players are not on Facebook, or it rather mean that we do not tend to expose our little hobby. I wonder....

I like that you can click on a news articles and it takes you right to the LP thread, and once you are done reading, you can hit the back button and go back to Facebook. I hate it when web pages won't let you back out and if you hit the X close button your browser get kicked off the internet.

It's not designed as a second forum, and I can't spend a lot of time moderating TWO Web sites. If you look at how companies/movies/TV shows/music bands/etc. create pages, it is as a way to communicate, and then allow people to comment on those communications. They don't use the wall as a forum, because it would get out of hand quickly (as opposed to someone's personal page that doesn't get all that much traffic so it's no big deal).

Edit: on the face thing, I guess I could post a photo or two... [ More ]

I think it's great to be able to see Lottery Post members' faces on the site. I think it makes you feel a little closer to the person, and it's harder for people to be upset with each other when they feel closer.

Thanks to everyone who posted a welcome note over there. Sorry I had to close public wall posting for it, but please do continue to post any comments you like on whatever gets posted there.

One thing about Face book you can say what you want to say and chat with a person just like that. and it is private no one has to know what you are chatting about. If you see the Green Dot and that person is online you can chat with them. I don't think a lot of people want to go to Facebook, because maybe they don't want no-one to see who they are. Facebook gives too much information but you can control the settings of who you want to share your info. with.

Hey, here's some even better news: I just got word back from the Facebook staff that they have transferred the LotteryPost username over to me, so you can now reach the Lottery Post page at:

http://www.facebook.com/LotteryPost

(Someone was cyber-squatting that name, and Facebook rightly took it down and transferred it over to me.

I just launched a Facebook page for Lottery Post!

If you use Facebook (and who doesn't these days?) check out the page, and give it a Like to get updates directly to your own Facebook wall.

Also, if anyone has thoughts about what you'd like to see on our Facebook page (other than news stories, which are already being posted), I'd love to hear it.
