Actually down here we read the St Louis Post Dispatch more than the Chicago papers, but yeah.

That and growing up in North Jersey and seeing this all in action.

Wehn I got to Vegas I guy I first worked with had learned to deal in an illegal game in Manhattan. the games was on the 7th floor of an office building. The first floor of the very same building was the HQ of a police precinct.

Talk about paying off the cops

I'm not sure I'm up to making a distinction in matters of ethics and morals between the we treat feedlot cows, dairy cows, battery chicken [layer and meat] operations, and pets. Not to say I believe in the US there's any danger of what I suggested in my post actually happening so long as things don't get a lot worse than they are. My comments were tongue in cheek in response to the dog soldier anecdote.

Well Bob I'm a online Poker player thank god I got my money the other day. But one site is not releasing funds to the US Playes...

And I think it's BS...that is a strong group fighting to bring it back. And tax us players gov. stupid for not wanting a piece of a billion dollar industry.

The fact that we conduct wholesale slaughter of man's best friend is bad enough without going the extra mile and eating them.

It's a crime the way some people treat dogs in this country.

One can only imagine the regard in which they're held in countries like Korea and China, where they eat them.

These morons in office want people to get a permit to pick up and eat road kill? Has it occured to them they shouldn't screw with people willing to eat road kill?

Gorilla warfare fun fact, - Way back when the, Cheyenne dog soldiers got that name because they would bring a pack of dogs with them on the war trail, so they wouldn't have to stop and hunt for food.

Just putting it out there.

I usually shoot them through the window screen and collect them in the morning to haul out further from civilization where the chickens can get at them. But there's one I haven't been able to find except for the smell right up close to the front porch somewhere.

That's the poultry/predator/.22 short equivalent of deficit spending when you think about it. Shoot'em now, collect them later. Eventually the odor will force you to take care of the problem.

I used to pick up road kill when I went to town to bring home for the chickens and they always savored it. I quit when the predators started coming in to volunteer to be shot right here close that I din't need to import any extra.

If Illinoians don't have any chickens there shouldn't be any reason not to just cut out the middle man and go directly to the road kill.

I read in the Chicago Tribune the Illinois Senate has passed a bill allowing people to pick up and keep roadkill to eat. Of course you need to buy a permit to scrape up the flat snacks. So far it is limited to fur-bearing mammals, so you can't pick up wild fowl or reptiles. Soylent Green can't be too far down the road.

NY leads the east coast in not understanding UNSUSTAINABLE, ask any political Rep. here we all make 6+ figures,nobody has to worry about taxes,gas,cigs.cars,insur,food,clothes,bank charges,or the taxes on some of these. If any of them read this they will instantly vote themselfs a RAISE then fatten thier PERKS and say how they visit every county In the state,and how well they know the WORKING CLASS, all on Your dime! And they NEVERMind Lets just say Yes they grab all the funds they can anywhere

They're looking for money wherever they can get it, fines, fees, sting ops, more law enforcement -- except going after violent criminals (sorry, all of our officers are busy writing traffic tickets ...)

There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power government has is the power to crack down on criminals. When there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.

The states that have promised the moon and stars for life, (entitlements), to members of various voting blocs, (unions and gov. employees), are having to take drastic measures to keep their houses of cards (no pun intended) from collapsing around them.

There is some part of the word unsustainable that they just don't understand.

The cities that are struggling with their budget are coming up with all kinds of ways to raise revenue. The city of Atlanta GA has given the courts notice to prepare for an influx of speeding cases.
