I went to Erie Pa. to Prequle Downs they have a Casino and Horse Racing Simulcast there. I plaued Mountaineer and a few other Northfield,Delta Downs ,Yonkers CharlesTown Remmington Park quite a few. I had Money on my mind 567 but the 675 came in at one of them tracks and Paid over 1,000 and sum dollars I could of screamed. Lol

Back in the day when Mountaineer Park first started simulcasting and offered off track betting, it really saved their business. Their average purse was about $1500. The WVA lottery put video slots in the race tracks and profits were shared by the horse racing association. Now most of their tracks are full service casinos and their live racing is thriving.

The closest track for me is Keeneland and the Red Mile but their racing dates are limited. I too would rather be standing on fence watching... [ More ]

They asked about live racing. You can't bet on races not being run.

Most tracks are open year around for simulcasts but there is no need to actually go to any race track when you can bet on a PC.

The meet ended on November 5 and live racing won't begin at Thistledown until late April. Beulah Park is up and running now and will have live races at least until December 21.

The Breeders Cup is the World Series/Superbowl of horse racing and was at Churchill Downs this year. It was televised Nationally, but I watched it on my PC. The race that had the $2400 10 cent Super payoff was the $5 million Breeders Cup Classic won by 15-1 Drosselmeyer. The 3-8-4 $2 trifecta paid $5427, but was small compared to the previous race's 9-13-1 trifecta that paid $9955. The 9 horse, Court Vision paid $131.60 for win and the exacta 9-13 paid $1979.

Okay well, basically a pick 4 in horse racing terms is pick four winners of a race in a row. It's a parlay win bet persay. For example I picked 1,2 in the first leg 3,4,5 in the second 6,7,8,9 in the third then 10,11 in the fourth and any of those horses would have to win in each of there leg. To calculate the cost of this bet it would be 2x3x4x2= $72 for a $1 wager. They do have $.50 pick 4's and pick 3's just not at Los Alamitos.

Thistledown has 50 cent Supers and most of their races have 8 or less horses. Mountaineer Park is another track with a 50 cent limit.

The Breeders Cup is in a couple of weeks and it always has at least one monster Super payoff and will have 10 cent Supers.

Lots of Superfecta players put the favorite no worse than 2nd so two 5 - 1 horses on top can trigger a nice payout when the favorite doesn't hit the board. For $24 you can put one horse 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th with 5 other horses. It's $9.60 if you use four horses.

The $1 Super paid $7,440 to win $744 on a 10 cent bet.

How did you come up with those? I will tell you a secret lots of my numbers I predict come in Del.

Once I added some numbers to get the Tri. It could of been $29,000. but I played it str8. They were all long shots I am assuming every one of them Horses 3 were long shots.

You got that right that is why I don't like to bet on favorites to often, well, some times I will wheel it with a trifecta but if you want to make some money put a long shot in ther 1, or 2nd. favorite last. Yup I know they have 50 cents Tri. Calder, Belmont and a few other tracks.

For some reason my server has a problem with the live feed from Keeneland and it's strange because all the other tracks come in fine. It's not fun betting races I can't watch and put my finger (on my screen) to slow down a horse that's could be beat me out of a nice hit. LOL

Yep, you can box 4 horses for $2.40 and you can key a horse to win, place, show, or fourth with 4 other horses for $2.40 too. The other day at Fresno a horse was scratched while the other horses were entering the starting gate and any ticket with that horse were automatically given the race favorite. In that race the favorite won, but I'd prefer to get a refund because many favorites have been known to run dead last.

Many of the tracks offer 50 cent trifectas too.

Yes, with them long shots you can play a Race Super* for 10 cents. And hope every last one of them are long shots that is the only way you will get some good money for them races Superfectas. It's 10% of whatever the Super Pays. If you box the Super for 10 cents that is $2.40 if I am correct.

The only thing worthy playing at Los Al is the pick 4's and sometimes the pick 6 if you're feeling lucky but it's much better to play the pick 6 at say Belmont or Santa Anita when they start back up. I NEVER play the bull ring that is fairplex.

Nope the 1,2,3 was one I just betted because I always use them horse numbers, the day it did,It was a long shot all of them. Actually it was a 1/2 it paid like $800 or more I had it box for $1.00 so I only got half. imagine what the Trifecta paid alot. because they were all long shots.

Right on, Roll with Joe won the meadowlands pace this year so most likely will be the favorite for the jug. I picked him to win the North America cup but, he ran second unfortunally. Oh, and this weekend at Balmoral Park near Chicago has some big races you might want to check out.

Ohio has the Ohio Sires Stakes series and it's not uncommon to see a mixure of first time starters with starters and winners of 2 or 3 races at county fairs or have started or won a Maiden race in the 2 and 3 year old races. It's difficult for handicapping because the times at county fair tracks are considerably slower. One of the legs of the harness racing triple crown (The Little Brown Jug) is ran at a county fair.

Yeah, a maiden race could be for any age. The two year old stake races are always fun especially at Saratoga (sadly the meets over now) oh and of course Del Mar (meet's also over.) I don't know if you play Quarter Horses or Standardbred horses but The Meadowlands when they run is always fun and the pick 4's at Los Alimitos are pretty dandy, I hit one tonight for $580.20 just under the thresh line for a signer :).

Maidens are horses or dogs (or quick piggies) that never WON a race. I've seen Maiden horses 0 for 19 starts.

Some times this is waht I do I go to the window where they are betting big on the Horses I don't bet big but I play behind them , they must know something to bet that kind of money.

I tend to use both, although I of course use DRF when betting simulcasting. My mom seems to do well with combinations, her favorite seems to be 1,3,4,7. My favorite races to play are the baby races (2 year olds) since, no one knows truely how good the horses are and you can seem to get a good long shot if you can find the right one.

I noticed somthing else about Playing the Horses you get them same numbers that come out it the lottery lots of times. I even have a little system I take away or add a number to play my Races. I think I will start during them mirrors when playing. 1 could be a 7 in my book 2 could be a 5, 6 could be a 9 Sometimes I take a few number and add them together. like 1+2 could be 3 3+6 could be 9 I did that once and pick out a Race for 29,000, A Trifecta Only I played it str8 for $1.00 at Tampa Bay 10,... When you said I can Bet online , I guess it didn't mean you actually have an account but could bet online if you had one. I should have know better than to ask which service you used because anyone with an account already knows they can watch the races live and it is simulcast racing.

Thistledown race track as most race tracks had live and simulcast race betting for many years so it's hardly something new. In some states it's legal to open an online account and wager and watch the live races from all over the World on your home computer.

Ever bet on the Australian tracks where the horses run clockwise or the Quarter horse races that are over with in few seconds?
