You know Wooddrive what is sad is that the second tier prize is only $10,000 now obviously one is playing to win the $7.5 million but for $50 they could at least make the second tier $1 million.

I hear you pcurtis Oklahoma lottery scratchers suck as well. That is why so many people drive to TX, Kansas and Arkansas to play there scratchers and they wonder why sales are down...

i can't imagine spending 5g on scratchers. its a lot of dough for what might happen. which is basically chasing one of the larger prizes, obviously over 5000+ ( minus the taxes) . its hard enough winning back the tix cost. even with that kind of roll, you have to be very lucky to pick the right store and keep scratchin that same game. i personally would, if i had no choice, go to the rural areas and buy the 10 and 20 scratchers with the most prizes left and hope to break even.

It is interesting to see what everyone would do.

pcurtis I like your idea...you cant beat the payouts that GA has, but I would spend some in Tn as well, probably buying some $10 and $20 scratchers along the way.

Then I would take pictures and send to management at KY lottery and show them what they are missing with their dismal top prizes on their own scratchoffs

I'd probably buy:

2 x $1,000 rolls of $20 scratchers

1 x $600 roll of $10 scratchers

1 x $300 roll of $5 scratchers

which would be subtotal of $2,900.

I'd spend the rest on buying 1-2 at a time of the $10 $20 scratchers from all different places.

I've never really been a fan of buying whole rolls. I seemed to do better by buying 1-2 at a time only. I can't seem risking $1,000 bux at a time since I play the $20 scratchers. Id rather the $$$ last alot longer hope for the bes... [ More ]

James - since my wife is a bartender part-time she brings these bottle openers home all the time from the vendors. These things work like a champ for scratching a large area at once.

I would buy rolls, different cities perhaps small towns, at off the wall locations. not at stores which are too slow but medium pace stores.

Hypothetically speaking if you were to have several thousand dollars to spend on scratch off lottery and also some extra time, would you travel around your state and buy up several tickets?

Would you stay in your town and buy up scratchers there, or maybe buy a few rolls?

Or would you use some other strategy?

I have always been thrilled by the idea of traveling to different cities and buying several scratch offs wherever I go to see if I could beat the odds and come out ahead.
