First, it crosses my mind from time to time, but I don't actively think of myself as a lottery winner when I play. I don't play often enough anyway.

Second, when I do play, it is almost always the Pick 3. I've played only one jackpot game this year, and that was the January 4 Mega Millions $380 jackpot. I played for that drawing only because it happened to coincide with my birthday.

I think/daydream about winning the lottery A LOT..

Things to buy, people I'd help, worldly places to visit (Egyptian Pyramids, Cayman Islands on on....)

Even tho I haven't won, it makes me smile just to imagine!!

And, I'm always happy to hear about the people that do win...

Their stories how awesome they must feel...

Slim chance or not, I think we all feel we may win one day

I think everyone who plays has at least thought for a second about if they won. Otherwise, why play in the first place. Whether they think about it only once for a few seconds or almost constantly, lottery players have imagined what it would be like to win or pictured themselves winning.

Scrooge McDuckism is a powerful undercurrent here on Lottery Discussions with a strong following. You'll find it's also most dominant on the various jackpot forums rather than among the Pick 3ers, who are usually proponents of Daffy Duckism or are non-denominational.

McDuckers also post a lot on the Lottery News Forum. The Math and Lottery Systems Forums tend to be about evenly matched between Duck-Soupers, Scrooge McDuckers and Daffy Duckers.

Oh, I am sorry.Some lottery players are living vicariously through themselves.They are not inspired to play the lottery because of lottery winners.They are not impressed with the accomplishment of winning a large amount or the jackpot as others have.

There seems to be a little difference between your title and this post. Yes of course i have pictured myself being a winner. but am i living vicariously through anyone that has won the lottery before? Hell no. I don't know much about people who've won jackpots, though I'm familiar with anecdotes about a few over the years. I have sometimes imagined myself winning a jackpot, though I don't think about it much.

But I'm a member of the Daffy Duck faction of LP members. The faction that thinks about it and talks about it are members of the Scrooge McDuck faction, of which I'm not a member.

I seem to have a calming effect on them though.
