You have to fifure if they powerball making changes and increasing prize moneyat all levels and has a staring prize of 40 million nest year the mega million has to do something or lose customers so to say so if they havent announed changes they will soon.

mean the powerball will have better odds than mega next year not by much but little better than nothing

Haha...yeah. In California, thanks to pari-mutuel, 2nd prize would either be 3x that much or MORE LIKELY a fraction of that.

I don't know, maybe when/if the $2 increase is officially announced, it might be time for us to drop out of MM. Yes, huge jackpots (when they happen) are sexy and I'd miss 'em, but our SLP is not a bad game.

Even at $2 per ticket it is still $1 per ticket. They had to increase an extra dollar due to the devalue of the dollar.

Dream and buy one ticket. The JP games are tough to beat. Instead of worrying how you'll deal with your win, maybe the best thing to do is to win first, then worry about it.

I heard today from a reliable source that starting soon-- perhaps in 2012-- the second prize for MegaMillions (having just 5 balls and not the Mega number) will result in a prize of $1,000,000 BUT that the price for a MegaMillions ticket will jump to TWO dollars.

I'm not sure if the Megaplier option will be retained.

I for one do not support this change because I'd rather spend that second dollar an a regular Cash 5 game whose number field is not enormous like MM's is. The other reason I... [ More ]
