I shoot down almost all birthday numbers, the ones that don't must have the last two years - century-decade, if I was born 08-15-48, if my wife was born 01-31-48, I'd take five of the six. 01-08-15-31-48.

That, or reverse some numbers to fit into the game - born in 65 reverses to 56, etc.

I didn't shoot down the birthday numbers theory but just showed in a game like PowerBall it doesn't matter because multiple winners aren't that common even among such winning combinations.

Real experts know they are doing fine if they consistently get 2x5, or 1x5 + the RB.

If you consistently get 2x5, then you probably hit 3x5 once in awhile (be reasonable)

And a 4x5 now and then, a couple times a year.

But you also know a lot of that is LUCK.

EDUCATED luck, but luck nonetheless.

If you get 0x5 more than four times in a row, you have issues with your 'system'. (assuming you play 2 games every draw

I don't play the PB, and hardly ever play florida fantasy five. But each state has their own lotto and play 5 games. Maybe the birthday idea came from folks who investigated all the games over a period of time, and/or just general experience from feedback by folks who play all the JP lotteries.

One mistake I have made is finding a number I feel real good about and not playing it on the opposite drawing then the one I'm playing it on.

Another mistake people make is playing the same numbers for months on end. There is a woman I have seen at the store several times buying tickets. She plays the same P3 and P4 numbers all the time, so I came home and checked out the past results on some of her P4 numbers and found they have hit less than 10 times in any form since 1975.

In my experiences, a lot of people play birthdays numbers because most of them don't have a system. The co-worker who won 1.2 million 25 years ago in the Mass. lottery, which I recently wrote about, his wife played birthday numbers.

It wouldn't be hard for private investigator to ask the officials for a breakdown of how many tickets played contained only calendar numbers.

I've never read that rule on any list based on facts about lottery drawings but I have seen it on many lists of experts who made up their own list off the top of their heads using their common sense and no statistical data.

Using my common sense I would probably not find many PB and MM drawings where all the winning numbers were below 32 but I would be willing to guess of the ones I did I would be lucky to find half of them had even a single winner let alone more than one winner.

I don't think that's a mistake.

Every number you pick is based on a decision, but you need to write down WHY you decided to pick that number, most folks don't.

When you DO write down why, you can then see which decision bases are ok, and which ones you can throw out/try something new.

I mean, if you pick a certain number based on one thing, and after two months it NEVER hits, it's not a good decision.

In my humble opinion, the biggest mistake is not keeping your foot in the door.

I think it's crazy to wait for the PB or MM Jackpots to reach a certain level before spending a buck or two on them.

I learned the hard way last week to believe in the numbers that I decide to play, to follow through no matter what, and to leave myself enough time to purchase my tickets.

One of the biggest mistakes that people make IMHO is that they drop the number too soon or they keep a number too long because it's their pet. Is that one or two mistakes? Anyway, my 2 cents.

IMO, not keeping track of WHY they pick a certain number.

And I am guilty of it to, with some of the numbers on a line sometimes.

But if I pick a number and it hits, sometimes I can tell you why, and sometimes I don't remember why I picked THAT number.

What's your opinion?
