This iz an interesting topic... My review on each:

Match Your Numbers to Winning Numbers: Even though I play these a lot, they're really boring when it comes to new games, especially in New York. I feel that most $2, $5, and $10 tickets all have this theme...

Match 3 like symbols: Symbols are always catchy, when I see 'em; like 'em a lot!

Match 3 like prizes: Kinda boring 'cause you know what you win; it's not like a surprise...

I chose uncover one winning symbol or number....In PA our tickets have special symbols that are mixed in with the match the actual number part

of the play. If you uncover a symbol, it usually has an added bonus but sometimes it's just like matching a number...you win what's below it.

I LOVE symbols and that's a game in itself finding different ones for different games. I have a mental checklist of the ones I've found already and

In Illinois we have some instant tickets where they display various coins and they have to add over $1.00 to win the prize shown. Those are pretty fun...

I prefer a ticket where I am just looking for a symbol, it makes it much easier to avoid missing a number on a traditional ticket and throwing away a winner.

Especially with $10 and $20 number match tickets. Sometimes all the numbers begin to mess with your mind a little.

I do the same. but i know someone who does this plus scratch the code and if they dont see matching numbers or its a losing code they just toss the ticket. very dumb thing to do. i always double check those tickets when i find them lying around.

I play the same way. i scratch my #'s to see if I have multiples or symbols. Then I scratch the winning to see if I hit. to me it plays the best that way.

I prefer simple and quick, just one spot to scratch.

But then you will be disappointed too soon. When play a scratch off ticket with matching numbers, I prefer to scratch Your Numbers first, then Winning Numbers and if there is a match, I scratch the prize. That way it would create more excitement, the play will last longer and the negative psychological effect of buying a losing ticket would be less.

And forget about the extended play games like crossword, I just never play those at al... [ More ]

I agree Jon. I didnt mind when PA had the cheat codes. Then the game could be super confusing, but I would at least know if I won. Now I prefer the simple games.The ones where you match 8's or 7's are straight forward. I think the other games are there to trick you into thinking you lost or play with your mind and make you think you won.

Spare me the psychological tricks they build into the games, I just want a straight up or down result and the amount. The result is set once you buy the ticket, so the ability to play a game is misleading, unlike casino games where your play actually does determine the outcome.

I chose Poker and card games. I have good luck on these but unfortunatly they have become almost a defunct style in florida.

Second choice would be the 7s games. You win if you either get a black 7 or red 7 ( double ). And 1 quick line to scratch and you never overlook anything.

The number match games would be third. Bingo and Crossword or games like Treasure Hunter can also be fun if you get off to a good start, but become tedious when you are scratching 20 tickets at a time.
