How do you scratch - the entire card or only the symbols?

I usually scratch the entire card

Ive seen peeps scratch only the barcode area and then to scan

seems like a waste to me

Me thinks he is referring to the letter codes, not the symbols per say

i seen that many time before too . if i were you i would just scan that ticket i would consider as luck not bad karma dooh . that ticket winning or not it will end up in trash now .

i scratch the whole area and even scan them to make sure to check if its a winner or not . i seen my friends playing just scratching the areas of the codes. i told them you guys probaly won something big already and threw it in the trash due all the high amount prizes are identical to the lettering of the loosing

I don't think I understand what you are trying to say.

A losing ticket, no matter how much of it you scratch off, is a losing ticket........ how would scratching the entire ticket make it a winner if the symbols/numbers arent winners

I just came from a store where someone who must've just won recently scratched a slew of $10.00 and $20.00 tickets and left the losers behind on the counter. The person only scratched the symbols, not the entire card. This doesn't make sense. What if he or she had one $1,000 or more? They will never know!
