if you are gonna play a past set...then its best to play one with doubles...

doubles are easier to see...and track...and if you play three numbers in a row...you have a better chance of catching two correct...

Depends. For MM or PB? Probably not. smaller games? yes. and when I go q/p its all a matter of luck so who knows what I would end up with.

The reason I asked is because I played a set of 5 numbers in Va. for 48 straight draws and they came in (all five) the day after they expired on what would have been the 49th draw. Would have been 100k. I started playing them again and hit 4 numbers for $100 a couple months later. Then I stopped.

Lately, I've been playing them again. Just wondered what you guys thought.

This type of strategy is unlikely to produce a JP winner BUT, it could likely match 3 of 5

it would depend on who win the jackpot with the numbers, fer instance if i had won the pot with them then yea, for old times sake and because im as rich as a congressman, i prob would play em again.

now if i just happened to make up the numbers and ran em thru a history checker like this http://www.usamega.com/mega-millions-search.asp

and found they had won the pot in th past, i probably would

Glad you like the formula Marcie. This method use to produce some winnings for me in the Powerball but I gave up on the PB and take 5. I only play Pick 4 now since the odds are in my favor. However, if you start producing winnings, that'll be fantastic! Win Big

Wow that is so Ironic I came up with an Ideas something like this. But I would like to take my worjout that I do everyday for Ohio pick some numbers from that. For Tues and Fri. for mega Million and Powerball. I will try it and see what I come up with.

mathmatically , ea draw is a new test and any set of numbers is as likely as any other set of numbers.

ie past draws have no affect on future draws. still its hard to play last weeks numbers again this week.

It depends. Let me explain. Sometimes past winning numbers are great because if you take them, start doing some workouts (I'm talking lottery math) than you'll see some good combinations as an outcome. For example, let's consider Take 5's (NY) last 2 draws:

Dec 21: 9. 14. 17. 32. 34

Dec 20: 1. 3. 7. 9. 35

First add them all up for a sum: 9+14+17+32+34= 106 ----- 1+3+7+9+35= 55

Now, 106-55= 51 and 106+55=161

Take 161-51=110

I probably did play some combos that won a jackpot when I was wheeling numbers playing Ohio's RC5, but had I taken the combo out, it could affect the win guarantee. By changing the order I placed the numbers into the wheel could have created other combos that had won before. The reason I was playing a pacific group of numbers was because they were consistently matching 2 and 3 numbers with occasional 4 number matches.

I said no because I wouldn't consciously select them. If I got it in a QP, or if I selected them and then later did a search and found they were previously drawn, I wouldn't worry about it, though. I'd just hope for lightening to strike twice. The odds reset for each drawing, so it has the same chance of hitting as any other number combo.

FYI, Ohio Rolling Cash5 (5/39) has had 2439 drawings since 10/04/04 and only six combinations repeated. That means 6 times of 2439, not playing a combination that had already won might have been a bad idea.

Speaking strictly from a New York Take5 perspective, I would not play a set of numbers that once won a JP.

Since Take5 began back in the early 1990's, there have been approximately 5,100 drawings. According to The NY Lottery, there has never been a duplicate set of JP winning numbers drawn. With 575,757 possible combinations of five numbers, and less than 10 percent of those combo's having been drawn, IMHO I'm better off not playing a set of numbers that once won a JP.
