I don't play any game other than the Pick-3 or Pick-4 unless both of the following conditions are met: 1) there is a recordbreaking or near-recordbreaking jackpot and 2) the drawing takes place on New Year's Day, my birthday (Jan. 4), Leap Year Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve.

I will not be playing Powerball once the price increases. We have only had Powerball in Florida for 3 years and and the price increases. I never get anything on Powerball with or without Powerplay, so I will only be playing Florida Lottery $1 games such as Lotto, Mega Money and Fantasy 5.

It won't make any difference to me. I always play the megaplier and powerplay hoping to hit for a million. So when PB changes, I'll still pay $2 for it and $2 for MM. I would hate to hit for $200k or $250k knowing if I had only put up another dollar it would be a million.

I think powerball will lose customers because of the asking price of $2 and because it lets mega millions have more people willing to play a dollar on a ticket than $2. I mean think about it if you are going it to a convienent store to purchase stuff or gas you will think about the cost more if you have to spend $2 for a ticket rather than $1 for a ticket. As far as MM not following suit, if PB is going to double the ticket price and double the jackpot start point from $20 million to $40 million, do you really think MM is going to stay with a $12 million dollar starting jackpot and a $1 ticket

That's right but how long MM will resist joining the $2 ripoff is the question.

Maybe if there's a mass exodus from PB to MM because of the cost, they'll remain at $1.

In a previous thread about the changes next year in PB and MM it was said that they will both be $2 for a ticket and 5 + 0 will pay $1,000,000. With another dollar played, Powerplay or Megaplier, 5 + 0 will pay $2,000,000.

I'm not sure that's official, but it was discussed.

They can keep it...I haven't won anything much in the times I have played and added the mulitplier. Talk about used...change a game in mid stream

and just be expected to keep on paying and playing. $40 million? So what.

Yep, 5 lines with Powerplay will cost $15, weshar.

But would that extra buck for Powerplay be better spent on a Mega Millions ticket?

In 2012 when the powerball changes to $2 I think that a full ticket with powerplay will run about $15. Can someone confirm that for me? I am curious because I know that 5 lines without powerplay is $10 but I am not sure if it is $15 with powerplay or $20 with powerplay. Would like someone at LP to confirm this for me.
