We know that C(36,2)=630 and C(5,2)=10 meaning for any 5 numbers drawn out of 1 through 36 we will have 10 sets of 2 numbers match in 630 total possibilities.

My question is how can we create a small sets of 2 numbers from the field of 1 through 36 with a guaranteed one set of 2 numbers match for any 5 numbers drawn from (1...36)

Thanks,

God bless us all.
