=IF( your test , your result if the test is true , your result if the test is false )

Example for data in cell A1:

=IF(A1=1,A1+1,A1)

This means: If the data in A1 is equal to 1 , then add 1 to the number to get 2 , otherwise just reutrn the original number in A1.

There are a few other ways, but this is fairly simple.
