Thank you for your email dated 29 January 2012 regarding playing the National Lottery.

I can confirm that it is possible to purchase EuroMillions and National Lottery tickets from one of our 28,500 retailer plus outlets in the UK or Isle of Man so long as you are over the age of 16. As the UK Lottery provider is governed and ruled by UK Law any prizes need to be claimed and paid out in the UK.

hi i note on your site that https://www.national-lottery.co.uk/player/p/help/faqs.ftl#int_GetStarted2 i cannont play or claim a prize if im not a resident of the UK via online play.

but what if i visit the UK and purchase a ticket while there, and later discover its a winner? will the prize be voided as im not a resident?

Thanks, but link clearly states that for playing via internet, player should be a resident of UK, but nothing about buying the physical thicket while the non-resident player is legally visitinng UK! I have not seen any sign anywhere in UK's selling agents that indicates tourists visiting UK can't play . Wouldn't this consider a fraud by UK National Lottery to mislead the people to buy the thickets, but not pay the prize if they win

im pretty sure you have to be a UK resident to play. well anytone can play, but you have to be a resident to claim a prize.

i looked at their website when the new 2 days a week came out and their expectoinal millionaire draw. alas locals only

anybody know if you are a tourist (from other country)and visiting England and buy euro millions ticket and win, can the person claim the prize? if he or she can, how much money he/she would expected to receive?how much extra money deduction that a tourist can be expected
