That does it, now it's stuck in my head. Too shy shy, hush hush, eye to eye.

But as far as songs stuck in your head, it's not too bad. I've had songs that I really don't like stuck in my head..Like you're walking around the office humming some song and you realize, WTF? I hate that song.

And then you have to to cleanse the palate with something catchy like Come on, Eileen which is another one-hit wonder song, courtesy of Dexys Midnight Runners. Or the Aha song Take on Me with that excelle... [ More ]

And hay, you should definitely go through those boxes even if it's just to find the Curley Shuffle again, but you'll probably dig up some other one-hit wonders.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Jerry Lewis Telethon tote board, but Del Mar is pretty cool so that works too.

I haven't heard that slogan but I just might have been on a different radio station. The tv ads were pretty well done, bringing back the Where the surf meets the turf song while showing models from all the decades from then to now.

Yikes. Doing something like that might bring a tsunami of bad karma upon yourself. From many posts on these forums if they could prove they purchased the ticket you could also be putting yourself in a bind.

Losing winning ticket = Bad karma

Finding winning ticket = Good Karma

Offering them the cost of ticket, Priceless.

I wonder how many winning tickets have ever been lost and how many of those were never

found. I don't think the lottery would pay you anything if you claim you lost the winning ticket

Finders keepers, losers weepers. A winning ticket is like a bearer bond, the person who bares

the ticket and signs it gets the JP. I would maybe give them the price of the ticket back if they

could prove they purchased it to begin with. Who know's, had I not found the ticket the numbers

might have been different, butterfly effect.

That is still one of my all time favorite short comedy's and song.

The name of the group was Jump 'N the Saddle band. Peter Quinn was the lead vocal who mimicked Curly so well.

They first released the song in 83 , but it didn't catch on nationally until the next year. Excellent corresponding video which borrowed dozens of the original Stooge's clips. Incidentally it was their only hit.

As some has said (and as recent stories on here have shown) numerous people could claim to have lost the ticket and never bought it at all. I say keep hush about it unless you know that someone can comeforth with solid evidence that it is their ticket (the tickets have time stamps of when they are purchased do they not?) You could inquire with the store about video survelliance to help you determine who is telling you the truth and possible playslips etc.

I agree. There is a scoreboard somewhere and everybody has Fantasy Points going, just like when a quarterback completes a pass or throws a pick.

And I also agree about tipping, and I think that 20% should be the baseline, just as with tipping.

I had an incident years ago when I found $500 in cash and a digital camera in a backpack that had been left there. I went through hours and hours of effort by looking up clues based on two pieces of paper in there and eventually tracked them dosaid

I also am a BIG believer (as was John Lennon), of karma.

Do the right thing, without expectation of receiving anything in return. Having said that, upon returning the lost ticket to the rightful owner, there should also be an obligation from the grateful recipient to reward the kind deed. Say.........10-20%. Similar to a tip at a restaurant for good service.

Watch out for the wanna-be's - like in CT, the guy who swore they were his numbers.

I'd return it but would want to know a few key pieces of information...which someone said something about

the store cameras (good idea if the tapes were running) - I'd want to know the time of the ticket purchase

too.

If they had a quick pick, chances are they don't know the numbers. To get to the very bottom of the case,

Karma, fate has a way of paying you back , so I say find the owner, they will know where the ticket was purchased and the lottery can verify the date, place and time.

Why go through all the crazy lawsuit stuff anyway, they might give you a reward.

We are all creatures of habits and routines. Those routines undoubtedly would carry over to the way you would purchase your tickets/scratchers at a favorite gas station/convenience store.

often people buy their lotto games, and say the cost comes to $12, they may add 3x $1 scratchers.

thew real purchers may actually hace a habbit of always buying $12 lotto, and $3 of scratchers, and know this routine.

someone finding the ticket would not. and although not proof that the person isnt the original buyer, would add weight to the case against them.

When claiming a second prize for Powerball a few years back, I presented my signed ticket with photo I.D., and SS#.

The first question they asked was where did you purchase your ticket?

A person who legitimately purchased a winning ticket should remember these security issues upon reporting it lost.

If it was known that someone had lost it, yes of course I'd return it. You are asking for all kinds of legal troubles if the real winner knows he lost it, then here comes Jim-bo 2 weeks later claming he has the winning ticket.

The lottery commision will investigate it and find out who bought it. You would have had to lie the whole time and the truth will come out.

There's been a few posts here at LP about questions the lottery people ask jackpot winners to verify that they are indeed the person who bought the ticket.

There's a number on the ticket that lets them know exactly where it was purchased, for one thing.

Then there's surveiallance cameras.
