I was living in Northern California about 5 years ago when there was a winning ticket (CA SuperLotto or MM) in the South Bay. Might have been San Jose. A few days later, a TV news crew was at the convenience store interviewing the owner and they talked him into showing surveillance video of the ticket being purchased. At the time, I thought it was cool. In hindsight, I'm appalled.

I want all the information available. This keeps the system transparent just in case something fishy is going on. Not a conspiracy theorist but when it comes to human greed, anything is possible.

All states should give lottery winners the option to remain anonymous, perhaps even allowing them to conduct conferences with their face and voice digitally altered to protect their identity. This is especially relevant in light of past lottery winners that have ended up murdered for their money.

now that every big win is almost always followed with fake claims, and scams, and mysteries. i dont think the public should know much. but then that is relying on the gov to do the right, honest thing!

you can see my dilemma? caught between a phantasy and an impossibility.

i ticked state only. as scammers would have a hard time making up facts if you release nothing

but that just means lotteryy insiders have the best chance of scamming the money and i dont want that either

Sometimes, it's fun to have buzz over the state for a few days while everyone is checking their tickets and talking to neighbors. I say state only... Even though that increases the number of stories about lost and stolen tickets (I'd be lying if I said I don't enjoy hearing some of those, too).
