Yep, more land would be nicer, but its remoteness makes up for it. Once winter hits you are locked in. So you would really have to be prepared.

Things got kind of screwed up lately, so I'm in near poverty level money right now.

But I'm doing pretty well.

So any win where I could be flippin in the market again would be great.

One half says that a super big win would only make me a target.

The other half says what I could do for other people. I have a passion for energy efficiency and I think that it would be super cool to work with somthing like Habitat and build 100 net zero homes.

Yep, $50m is enough. I played PB Saturday, last Wednesday, and I've got tickets for this Wednesday. (Got my MMs too) I even play the state lotteries like Lotto and the 2-Step. The smaller jackpots are enough to secure my retirement. The larger ones can help my kids relocate here to Texas with me, and help my sisters secure their retirements.

Life is good like it is, lottery jackpot only makes it easier and better.

I sit here marking out my picks for a $130k jackpot; because it didnt go off last week, and contemplate the 1 in 2.2 mill odds, the 55c purchase price per line. i think is it really worth my $2 entry fee...?

hmm that depends on if i win or not.

anyhow i ended up playing 8 lines for $4.30c lol and a $130k jackpot. call me insane. but my vote goes for any Chance is better than no chance.

Is $50M enough? Of course it is! Same for the $12 million MM minimum. Heck, I'd be happy with the $3M NY Lotto minimum, the $1M jackpot from Sweet Million, or the top prize from NY's Take 5 (usually between $60K and $90K, though I'd be disappointed if I had to share it).

Granted, the larger amounts make it easier to retire and live off your winnings, but I'd be happy to just pay off my debts and have a nice chunk of change left over to put in the bank.

Since I am retired...any amount would be fine with me...such as -- $100,000. Every one's financial situation is different: some people have debt; others, don't.

I am retired, no children, and no husband -- and I rent. So, I would just travel, alone, if necessary because the majority of my friends are still working.

All odds aside though, one thing's for sure, if you can't bring yourself to part with that two bucks, you'll have zero chance of winning that $40 Million.

What they should have done is offer a 2 plays for a buck for half the JP option.

that has been my strategy for years, buy everything and let the gods decide what i win.

recently ive had the humps at my lotto agency, upping odds, changing payout percents.

and basically ruining some cool games.

My state has MM and PB, so $2 for 1 ticket vs $2 for 2 tickets when the odds are about the same and the JPs are not so far apart.

I'll stick with MM, until PB gets way more interesting .

Not really. I'd rather take a bet 1 dollar bet that has 1:100 odds of winning 120 dollars than a 1 dollar bet with 1:1000 odds of winning 900 dollars.

Of course 900 dollars is more, but the odds tell me that the first bet is way better. The EV for the first one is 120%, while the EV on the second is 90%.

No, $50 million is not enough. Though I'd be happy with a much smaller amount, I'll put my money where the best odds are per dollar spent in relation to the jackpot size. I played the state Hit 5 for a while, until the jackpot of $730,000 was hit February 15. Must respectfully disagree with this premiss. The odds are always going to be 1:175 Million PERIOD. Whether 10 BILLION people play or 1 individual plays, those odds will not change.

Of course the more people playing, the more likely one of those combinations will come up, but will still remain at the odds of 1:175 Million.

There may be more multiple winners as well, when more people are playing. The odds remain the same.

Honestly, I'll be fine with $10,000. I don't understand why people like to lose their money when they Jackpots are so high, making someone else rich.

I play the jackpot when the jackpot starts at $20 million. Doesn't matter one bit.

Less players play at these amounts, so the odds are sort of in my favor.

It take 6 rolls of $10 millions for powerball to reach $100 millions annuity. That is when the heavy hitters start spending big money on the powerball. I hold on to my $2 until $100 millions annuity, I want to win a really life changing jackpot and anything above $100 millions annuity offer me that.

We will have a lottery game with a $100 millions starting jackpot soon, if players continue to play powerball heavily every time it reaches $100 millions annuity.

On the heels of a near record $364 Million jackpot, probably won by just one person, the wind was sucked out of many people's sails.

I think it will take another 4-6 drawings to pick up the pace again. At $2 a ticket, there were many lotto wannabee's that slapped down hundreds to have a shot at their dreams. Takes time to get over that post lottery depression.

$50 Million is still a STAGGERING amount of cash!!! I will always play regardless of the size.
